Denver Beer Fest Tapping with Mayor Michael Hancock
Lizzie Bourque

Yesterday Denver Mayor Michael Hancock met a host of reporters and craft beer lovers at The Source to kick off the 2013 Denver Beer Fest. The Source is a new development in Northwest Denver is envisioned as a foodie hangout, housing new restaurants and artisanal food and beer vendors. Crooked Stave Artisan Beer will open its new tap room location there this Friday.  Mayor Hancock joined Crooked Stave founder Chad Yakobson and VISIT DENVER in kicking off the 2013 Denver Beer Fest, which celebrates over a week of craft beer related events leading up to the Great American Beer Festival.

The firkin tapping of Crooked Stave’s Vielle also celebrated the launch of the 14er Glass as part of the Denver Beer Trail.  The 14 ounce glass commemorates Colorado’s 54 fourteeners and can be acquired at any of the stops along the Denver Beer Trail.
