PorchDrinking Playlists | Modern Throwbacks
Last night I watched one of my favorite new artists Leon Bridges perform on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and was reminded of the new wave of talented modern artists who’ve been able to channel a familiar throwback sound. Artists like St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Allen Stone, Charles Bradley, Shakey Graves, Sharon Jones and more capture elements of southern soul, southern rock, and yet are able add a bit of their own modern twist on it. So today’s playlist showcases some of that talented crop of modern throwbacks which you should have on your listening radar.
