9 Best New Mexico Breweries to Import After Trump’s Wall in ColoradoOctober 25, 2019 | Tristan Chan 1
Two days ago, President Trump announced that he would be building a wall in Colorado to presumably keep out the New Mexicans for whatever offense they may have committed against him. One could surmise that their green chile was too spicy and flavorful for his bland palate, or perhaps saw tweets from their visitor’s bureau of Meow Wolf and thought we were being attacked from another dimension by another planet’s space force.
Regardless, Trump’s alleged wall in Colorado will surely have dire repercussions for the rest of the country including the fact that we’ll no longer have easy access to a number of the state’s prolific breweries. Here’s a list of the nine best breweries out of New Mexico, which we’ll have to import once Trump’s Colorado wall is built.
Ultimate 6er | Donald J. TrumpNovember 10, 2016 | Scott Johnson 1
Our 45th President of the United States has been officially declared to be the one and only Donald J. Trump. As we all know, Trump is a man of great class putting his seal of approval on everything from casinos, buildings, steaks and water bottles. But what kind of beer do you get for the man who has everything? Remember everyone, George W. Bush appealed to people as “a president you could sit down and have a beer with.” So what would come in the cabinet of America’s Blue-Collar Billionaire?
Who Said It: Donald Trump or a Complete Asshole?August 27, 2015 | Drew Troller
Haha, that Donald Trump guy is so wacky! The things he says are so zany and OUT THERE and awesome, right? It’s so funny seeing that guy from “The Apprentice” run for President, especially since he doesn’t talk or act like normal politicians. Refreshing, right? Even if he IS a bit outlandish at times. But it’s quirky and fun. Which is why so many sites are playing that game of “Who Said It: Donald Trump or ___?” He’s been compared to cartoonish TV characters and at least a couple actual cartoons.
So here’s someone else we can compare Donald Trump’s quotes to, just to point out how entertaining his madcap eccentricity is. Take this quiz and see if you can tell who said it: Donald Trump or a Complete Asshole? Read More
Nevertheless, We Persist: Eden and Anxo Cideries Launch 5th Collaboration WHM Ciders Benefiting Women’s Rights CharitiesMarch 30, 2023 | Ruvani de Silva
“She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.”
In February 2017, Mitch McConnell’s attempt to justify his silencing of Elizabeth Warren on the senate floor went viral, backfiring against the Republican party and transforming into a feminist rallying cry. His phrase sparked the hashtags #ShePersisted and #LetLizSpeak and became the theme for 2018’s Women’s History Month.

Favorite Beer Names of GABF 2022October 21, 2022 | Emma Wargolet
Sometimes, it is not the description of the beer that pulls you in, but the name of the beer. I have zero qualms about purchasing Hopewell Brewing Co.’s Ya Filthy Animal simply because of the name of the beer (turns out it is my favorite holiday beer, so that one paid off), and going into Great American Beer Festival, my philosophy remained the same.

Ultimate 6er | Chicago Beer Pairings for the Golden GlobesFebruary 24, 2021 | Rachel Morrison
No, Emily in Paris is not included in this list. For starters, it’s not a film. Additionally, it has no place on the list of nominees for the Golden Globes altogether. If you for whatever reason would like a recommendation to pair with the show, reach for whatever brewery is currently releasing exploding cans to the public.
New Legislation Extends Aid For Small Businesses Including BreweriesDecember 28, 2020 | Scott Grossman
After months of political wrangling and a stressful weekend for many small businesses, President Trump finally signed a $900 billion aid package passed by both houses of congress last Monday. The bill extends many of the measures initiated in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act last spring. This new legislation funds programs to help individuals and small businesses, including breweries. With many areas facing new government-mandated business restrictions due to rising numbers of COVID-19 cases, the aid comes at a critical time.
Since April, many breweries have invested heavily to maintain safety and economic viability. Changes include website upgrades for takeout orders, expanded indoor and outdoor spaces and delivery options. In addition to these costly changes, breweries have seen uneven customer traffic and revenue. Breweries hope that this new stimulus package will allow them stay afloat long enough for restrictions to ease and economic activity to pick up. Read More

Election 2020: Reminding Myself “The West Wing” Isn’t on the BallotOctober 28, 2020 | Drew Troller
Quick aside, so my editors don’t have to put a note in: I speak only for myself in this post. PorchDrinking staff and contributors do not have any official political stance that I’m aware of, and I have no animosity for people on this site or in our country who respectfully disagree about matters of policy. Also, sorry to die-hard “West Wing” fans if I do the show a disservice. All that said… go vote.

As if the year 2020 weren’t already crazy enough, America is now gearing up for one of the most volatile and highly contested presidential election cycles in modern history. Small Business Relief Options for Breweries Shut Out by Stimulus BillApril 20, 2020 | Scott Grossman
When President Trump signed the CARES Act on March 27, 2020, it appeared to offer a much-needed lifeline to small businesses that are suffering under the current pandemic. The act funded several programs designed to allow businesses to pay their basic expenses—particularly their employees—while under various government-mandated shutdowns and reductions in service. However, within just 13 days of the April 3, 2020, start date the $376 billion program ran out of funds, leaving many small businesses, including breweries, wondering if any assistance will be coming. One Colorado Brewery Continues to Medal at Every GABF Since OpeningOctober 10, 2019 | Tristan Chan
When we speak about the 1990’s Chicago Bulls, John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins from the mid 60’s through 70’s, the 1950’s Yankees with Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Yogi Berra, or more contemporary examples like Geno Auriemma’s UConn Women’s Basketball teams from the mid 90’s to today, and from 2001 to today, the New England Patriots, we’re talking about iconic programs that have achieved greatness for such a sustained period of time and consistency, that they transcend normal recognition. They become spoken about in rarified air, as dynasties.
