Wit’s End Brewing | The Last Jed-IPA
December 21, 2017 | Kara RowlandI’ve learned a few cardinal truths in my years of craft beer fandom. Most fall into the category of brewing basics, such as the fact that Brettanomyces imparts a funky flavor or that fresh-hop season begins in late August. But there are some cultural observations, too—like the industry’s fanatical penchant for Star Wars.
Denver-based Wit’s End Brewing owner Scott Witsoe is no exception to this axiom. Witsoe and his crew unveiled three limited-release beers to coincide with the latest installment of the inter-galactic saga: The Last Jed-IPA, Stay On Target Southern English Brown Ale and Kyber Kristallweizen Pale Kristall Weizenbock.
Wit’s End Brewing Closing Current Location to Join Strange Craft Beer
October 20, 2017 | Tristan Chan 1It’s been a tumultuous week for the Denver craft beer scene beginning with news that Asheville’s Thirsty Monk has acquired the space currently inhabited by Deep Draft Brewing and that Deep Draft would in turn close. Earlier today the Westword also reported that De Steeg Brewing has been acquired by new ownership, who plans to retool the four year old brewery and add another brand in Blind Faith Brewing focusing on Belgian-styles. However today’s announcement that Wit’s End Brewing will be closing it’s current location and move operations to share brewing and taproom space with Strange Craft Beer at 1330 Zuni Street, signals a more significant shift in the landscape of Denver’s craft beer scene.

October 11, 2023 | Tristan ChanAs several small-to-mid-sized breweries across the country have begun to feel the pinch of a more competitive craft beer landscape, many of those breweries have had to make difficult decisions on whether to invest heavily in growth or call it quits. And while a greater volume of recent headlines has trended toward the latter of the two fates, including the recent closure of Denver’s Dos Luces Brewery, Burns Family Artisan Ales (Burns) is seizing the opportunity to bet big on itself by taking over Dos Luces’ space to open a second location.
