Thanks to highly accessible music sites like Pandora and Spotify, little effort is needed to discover new music. However, these radio stations can be repetitive as well as incompetent in their periodic integration of new releases.  Therefore, recently, I’ve been looking for new ways for discovering new music. I’ve been tuning into The Hype Machine, a website that collates the latest and most frequently blogged songs, as well as Majestic Casual, a YouTube radio station. Each site spotlights music from the electronic, experimental, hip-hop, indie and pop varieties, pulling from blogs run by true music enthusiasts (aka professional social media stalkers). As a result, this playlist is a compilation of #trending songs that have made it from the obscure blog sites to the more attainable Spotify.
