The (2nd Annual) Universal Drinking Game
July 25, 2013 | Drew Troller 2Remember last year when we presented the Universal Drinking Game? A year later, we’re back for round two. We’re tired of drinking game rules for individual movies and TV shows. We need a list that applies to ALL our entertainment.
So the rules of this game are simple: turn on ANY show or movie you want. And drink any time any of these things happen. ENJOY (responsibly)! Read More

Pop Culture Week In Review: 7/10-7/17
July 19, 2013 | Liz Riggs 2Sometimes I don’t even know where to begin. There are weeks when pop culture is all meh and stuff, and there are weeks when it’s like, ummm, how did all this happen within the course of seven days? Read More

July 18, 2013 | Laura MegoWe’ve all been there- right before making dinner, you hop on your laptop to do a quick check of Facebook and your email, and six hours later you look up with a glazed expression on your face and absolutely no idea where the last quarter of your day went. Read More
The Lone Bellow
July 16, 2013 | Tristan ChanThere’s always something magical about seeing a band play Red Rocks Amphitheater, whether it’s for the first time or the 237th (it seems like Blue’s Traveller has played RR every July 4th since the signing of the Declaration of Independence). The Lone Bellow aren’t exactly strangers to arguably the greatest music venue in the nation. In fact, it was only two months ago that they opened during a screening of Film on the Rocks, but that wouldn’t dampen (figuratively) their excitement, energy or sound Saturday night when they performed with the likes of Blind Pilot and Brandi Carlile.

Art of the Box Office Flop
July 11, 2013 | Nik Heimach 4The Lone Ranger cost $215 million to make. Directed by Gore Verbinski, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and starring newcomer Armie Hammer with supporting roles from Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, Disney was positive its investment into the once established franchise would yield a lucrative return. But after opening night, The Lone Ranger only raked in $9.7 million. Ruh-roh, Silver.
Pop Culture Week in Review: June 30-July 6
July 5, 2013 | Drew TrollerIt’s sweltering hot in parts of America, so this week you had an excuse to stay indoors and watch TV/surf the internet. So I’ll assume you’re mostly caught up on pop culture as it is. But in case you were busy splaying out under an air conditioner or sleeping off a Post-Porch-Drinking-First-Anniversary-Bottle-Share-And-Party hangover… here’s the stuff you might have missed. Quick hits, because as I type in this heat my fingers are already beginning to sweat. Not really. That’s a gross image. I apologize.
Here we go.

July 4, 2013 | Laura MegoIf you’re anything like me, your music listening habits are somewhat…unique…
Basically, there are very few times in my life when I have a particular song or artist in mind that I HAVE to listen to at that particular moment. More often than not, what I want to listen to is based on vague feelings or snippets in time (which might explain why I have an iTunes playlist labeled “Cool Fall Days” and another labeled “High School Girls”.) The Oh Hello’s
July 1, 2013 | Tristan ChanI don’t usually deal in sweeping proclamations, ok maybe I do, but if there is one band to see in person this summer, it’s the Oh Hello’s. The brother and sister duo of Tyler and Maggie Heath out of San Marcos, Texas form the core of an 11 person ensemble, that produces a robust, soulful, indie folk sound, reminiscent of Of Monsters and Men, The Head and the Heart and the Lumineers.

June 21, 2013 | Liz RiggsOh my mommy. Where soever do we begin? This week has been a haze of celebrity-fueled nonsense. June 20, 2013 | Laura MegoI have a reputation among my friends for being sort of a know-it-all. It’s mostly random, useless knowledge which makes me a useful trivia partner, but it mostly just takes up a lot of extra brain cells that I could be using for, I don’t know, nuclear physics or something more helpful to the world at large (unless you count winning some free beer as being helpful to the world at large.) Pop Culture Review 6/8 – 6/14
June 14, 2013 | Nik HeimachContent Warning: If you fancy yourself only the most modest connoisseur of media and pop culture, the following may be an inappropriate consumption for you. This week showcased some of the most in-depth news of the year, distinguished not only by its content, but the elaborate multiplicity consternating the ramifications necessary to comprehend. If you choose to read, the choice may irrevocably extinguish the inexhaustible, visa vi, your pop culture conscious. Ergo, the paradox of choice: causality. Concordantly. A priori? I don’t have a job.
I Want To Be Best Friends With Taylor Swift

Pop Culture Week in Review: May 31-June 6
June 7, 2013 | Drew TrollerThis week, not a lot of great exciting stuff happened. Lindsay Lohan behaved herself, almost all big TV shows are on hiatus, no studio announced amazing movies in development, and we’ve all forgotten about “Arrested Development” season 4. Now we’re left with some viral videos, depressing news about the state of movies, and even MORE depressing news for the House of Stark.
I’ve got you covered in this week’s Pop Culture Week in Review. Let’s go.

Ultimate 6er | Game of Thrones
June 5, 2013 | Gabe Bellegard BastosThe season finale for HBO’s Game of Thrones is right around the corner, so what better way to send away some of the best (and worst) people on TV than an Ultimate (Robert Baratheon-sized) 6er? This is a big one, so take it easy or you’ll end up killed by a boar.
