In a world where artificial intelligence is now being used to create beer recipes and entire brew systems are fueled by automation, the craft beer industry is beginning to look less like the scrappy bootstrapped, mom-and-pop entrepreneurial operation that inspired approximately 10,000 neighborhood breweries across the country and more like the big box corporate breweries that have monopolized the market for so many decades.
While automation has helped to create efficiencies that become critical for fueling explosive growth, some aspects of operating a brewery just work better with a human touch.

As we continue to see outpouring of support for DDB and his family, it’s also important to continue to reflect back on some of the first breweries to release dedicated beers in an effort to raise money for the cause. For this week’s installment of Collaborating for a Cause, we head to one of the Mountain states for the first time in this series. Cerebral Brewing, based out of Denver, Colorado, was quick to show their support for Alex Kidd, the person behind Don’t Drink Beer, and his family following his devastating cancer diagnosis. For Cerebral’s fundraiser, they re-released two high-gravity beers, donating 100% of proceeds from all bottles and draft pour sales to the Kidd family GoFundMe.

Lady Justice Moves to Englewood, Continues Brewing for a Better World

In February, Lady Justice Brewing announced it would be moving from its four-year-old home in Aurora and heading west to Englewood. Well, Lady Justice’s last day in Aurora was on Feb. 29. Now, the Lady Justice team is preparing for an official opening on Wednesday, March 20.

It’s almost that time of the year again! The time to celebrate the art of collaboration at the highly anticipated Collaboration Fest. Hosted by the Colorado Brewers Guild, this unique festival features local and national breweries coming together to collaborate on distinctly unique beers made specifically for the festival. As one of the more novel festival concepts in the country has continued to serve as one of the best and brightest beer events in the country where creativity knows no bounds — and this is the largest year yet, with 145 beers from 180 breweries.
New Ownership Takes Over Resolute Brewing Company

Resolute Brewing Company, a brewery with locations in Centennial and Arvada, is changing ownership. “We are thrilled to embark on this journey as the new owners of Resolute Brewing Company,” said Jacob Wells, a new owner of Resolute. “Resolute has established itself as a cornerstone of the community, and we are committed to upholding its values while infusing fresh energy and creativity into the brewery and taprooms. We’ve been big fans of Resolute for a long time and can’t wait to get started.”
Colorado’s Best Saisons Blind Tasting Presented by On Tap Credit Union

Back with another edition, in fact, the tenth edition(!), of our Blind Tasting Series. For this iteration, our Blind Tasting focused on trying to find the best Saisons made by Colorado breweries. Altogether, 16 beers from 16 Colorado breweries were submitted. In the end, two took home Honorable Mention awards, two scored Top Marks, and one was crowned Best In Show.

Lone Tree Brewing Expanding to Parker, Acquiring Barnett & Son Brewing

Last week, Lone Tree Brewing Company announced plans to expand to a second location by acquiring Barnett and Son Brewing Company. Lone Tree will officially take over operations at the end of this month with a tentative opening of the new location on March 1.
“Lone Tree has been looking to expand for the last 4-5 years,” Director of Brewhouse Operations, Jerry Siote says. “With competition and maturation of the industry, we really wanted to grow into our brewhouse capacity, increase business opportunities, and provide more to our employees while continuing to innovate in neighboring communities.”
Inside Jade Mountain’s Decision to Rebrand As Incantation Brewing

It’s been a brutal past four years for the craft beer scene, so when a brewery’s social channels abruptly undergo a massive rebrand with all past content getting wiped, it’s certainly cause for concern.
However, instead of a brewery acquisition or merger, Friday, Aurora-based Jade Mountain Brewery and Teahouse revealed an unexpected wholesale re-brand, transitioning from its Asian-inspired roots to punk/heavy metal-inspired, Incantation Brewing. The unexpected move also signals a dramatic shift in the brewery’s taproom aesthetic and beer program moving forward.

Where to Find 2024 Pliny the Younger Tappings in Colorado
