PorchDrinking Co-Hosting Two Events During Illinois Craft Beer Week

Illinois Craft Beer Week
Mike Zoller

This year PorchDrinking.com is pairing up with two local Chicago bottle shops for two great events during Illinois Craft Beer Week. Both events are designed to introduce the city to breweries that are new to Chicago or are out in the suburbs and might not be well-known to people living in the downtown area.

The ‘Burbs | Beermiscuous

Living in the city we’re surrounded by great breweries. While there is an abundance of delicious craft beer in Chicago, the surrounding suburbs are also producing some amazing brews. Teaming up with Beermiscuous, we’ll be providing an opportunity to try some of the suburban breweries you might not have had before.

There will be special tappings from Une Année, Hubbard’s Cave, Pollyanna, Sketchbrook, Tighthead, Kinslahger, and Noon Whistle.

The event is free to attend and all you need to pay for is the beer you drink. Each of the breweries will have one or two beers to try and some of the beer on draft will be special tappings unique for the event.

Newbies & Freshies #2 | Bitter Pops

For the 2nd straight year we’re teaming up with Bitter Pops for an event that highlights new breweries that have either opened up in Chicago or have started distribution in the city over the past year.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here. The price includes samples from all the breweries, a tasting glass, and a $10 card for Bitter Pops’ new Self Pour system. The event starts at 6pm.

This year there are 15 breweries in attendance. Some of the national headliners include Cigar City, Toppling Goliath, and Warpigs. The local breweries in attendance include St. Errant, Ravinia, Ale Man, and Short Fuse. For a full list of breweries attending, click here.

Last year this event sold out fast so get your tickets now while they’re still available. To learn more about events and the beer offerings at Bitter Pops, click here.
