Oktoberfest Beer Showcase | Dry County Brewing Company Oktoberfest
Brandon Cohran

Autumn weather is approaching — even here in Georgia — but before the bottle shop shelves are covered in pumpkin Ales, there are a plethora of Oktoberfest Lagers to try! One of the best statewide options each year is brewed by Dry County Brewing Company in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Oktoberfest celebrations from Munich, Germany, to Helen, Georgia, will be different this year. Grab a Dry County Brewing Company Oktoberfest to celebrate the festival virtually or at home.

At first glance, this spirited can is likely to invoke the desire to suit up in the traditional German garb, Lederhosen and clink beer mugs with a friend. Once the beer is pouring, you might even break out the traditional Chicken Dance!

The initial impression of this Märzen Lager is what you would expect of the style. There’s a biscuity, breadlike aroma that dances out of the Beer Krug (thick and dimpled glass beer mug with a handle) and into the air. It has a nutty sweetness from the hearty malts as well, which amplifies during the initial taste.

Once your mug is full of Dry County Oktoberfest, which might take two 12-ounce beers to fill depending on the mug, the dark amber-brown color resonates through the thick glass.

The bubbly white head is minimal and dissipates quickly, but a few prost will revitalize it around the edges of the glass.

Each sip turns into gulps quick thanks to the thin and light body of this delicious and easy drinking Märzen Lager. There’s a minimal hop bitterness that bursts into the roof of your mouth mid-drink, but it subsides as soon as you swallow.

The finish is dry and crisp with notes of toasted bread.

Dry County Oktoberfest features all German malt, hops and lager yeast. It’s only available August through October, so hurry and grab some throughout Georgia while you can. Prost!
