Now that winter is upon us, the days have gotten progressively shorter and the darkness of the season has followed suit. For me, this often means facing the daily morning struggle of willing myself out of bed to face a chilly ‘day’ that resembles something far more akin to the middle of the night.
The clocks have been moved back to standard time for fall and the days are growing shorter and the nights certainly much longer. With the darker and chillier days you need some tunes to get you through until Daylight Savings Time comes again. Folk music is one of those things that seems to go hand in hand with this time of year. Cozy up with this playlist, light some candles or a fire, and enjoy it all standard time season long.

The phrase “March Madness” doesn’t just describe the culmination of NCAA basketball season. Rather, it is a phrase that most accurately depicts the typical state of life in this particular month. March means flux, instability, madness. Whether it’s the quickly dissolving weeks of the year (and consequently the realization it’s been 2014 for two months now), or desperate need for a spring break, it seems March is a time for increased deadlines, assignments, etc. Yet we’re traveling at full speed, and it’s quite the challenge to slow down. These songs by nature reflect that flux. It’s a hodgepodge of some of my favorite covers, remixes and new hits. I hope you enjoy!
