Much of what I know about electronic music I owe to my brother, and this week’s playlist was inspired by an article in The New Yorker last month about the Berlin techno scene. “Electronic music” has many subgenres (e.g., dubstep, house, and electro) and it has had a profound impact on shaping Berlin’s culture (despite its Chicago roots, Berlin is considered the Mecca of electronic music). This playlist features a combination of original songs and remixes by talented DJs. Highlights include RAC’s version of Tegan and Sara’s “Hard to Hold”, Washed Out’s “Eyes Be Closed”, and Flume’s remix of Disclosure’s “You & Me”.
