About- Lizzie Bourque

Lizzie Bourque

Lizzie Bourque

Lizzie originally hails from the Mitten state, but most recently lived in Indianapolis and decided to join Peyton Manning and the PorchDrinking crew in Denver. Her life experiences have led her to specialize in drunken sing-a-longs, Detroit Red Wings and taking too many photos of her 3-legged black cat. Lizzie is in charge of Beerstagrams and now that she has put her Instagram obsession to good use, maybe her father will stop badgering her about holding a beer in all her photos.

If you’re looking for something to help those mundane chores feel a little more exciting- look no further. Mowing the Lawn? Pick up a Wolf Among Weeds IPA from Golden Road Brewing and you might find yourself actually enjoying the outdoors. Gardening? Avery’s Barrel-Aged Wild Ale brewed with Chardonnay grapes can turn any occasion into a fancy affair. Sweeping the porch? Nah. Forget that. You’re better off sitting down with good company and a Bell’s Two Hearted. Whatever you need to accomplish this weekend, we hope you find the perfect craft beer companion to help you through it. Happy Friday, PorchDrinkers!

What do this week’s Beerstagrams have in common? No not just beer instagrams

They’re all outside. And thank goodness. It’s that time of year- when good beer can come with you anywhere- A brewery patio, front lawn, river, or of course the occasional porch. This week is heavy on the Colorado beers with appearances by Great Divide’s Hoss Rye Lager and New Belgium’s Ranger IPA. But we did discover that the perfect river brew was Schlafly’s Pale Ale, even when the make-shift cooler didn’t keep it at an ideal temperature. Here’s to another weekend in the great outdoors!

In case drinking out of a can was too difficult for you—no worries, we have an easy fix for that! Just add a handle to it. Now you can enjoy the feel of a stein right out of the can! (Does this sound like a bad infomercial yet?) Still, they would definitely get my $14.99 plus shipping and handling for this cool contraption. Just please don’t throw in that Mexican wrestling doll as my free gift.

New places, new brews. This week’s Beerstagrams show off some highlights from North Carolina breweries. Not only did Foothills Brewing win Best Dressed for the Hoppyum label, apparently the beer inside the bottle was pretty delicious too. David (@tweettypography) and Lara (@larainindy) Brainer-Banker show off some Indy highlights with an amazing beer carrier for your bike –seriously, WHERE did they find that?!–and the local flavor of a new burger joint in town. Hopefully these Beerstagrams will give your weekend the extra Punch that it needs! (<—see what I did there 🙂
