In celebration of our 2nd Anniversary, we’re mixing in some throwback favorites from Beerstagrams past. We’ve been filtering, hashtagging and VSCOcaming beers almost as long as we’ve been writing about them, so help …
Let’s be honest – most of us at PorchDrinking.com only have one thing on our minds this weekend, and it isn’t beer. I hear there’s a pretty sweet football team that’s going to play in a big game on Sunday. This week’s Beerstagrams are all in honor of our native Broncos and their fearless leader, Peyton Manning (or as he’s known in these parts, PFM). GO BRONCOS!
Polar Vortex? Psh. PorchDrinkers made sure that the important things were in the fridge before the deep freeze set in across the Midwest and East Coast. And when the temperature finally rose above zero again, it felt balmy enough to enjoy a Hopslam in the snow! A trip to Mad Tree Brewing also helped warm the soul with samples of their finest creations, including psychopathy (get it, psyc-hop-athy). Make sure to tune in next week for some extra special beerstagrams of the New Belgium brewery!
Can’t decide which beer to order? That’s what flights are for! The holidays are the season for overindulging and overordering, and although we’re now into the season of buying-a-gym-membership-only-to-go-twice-in-January-and-bail, we made sure to test out all the craft beers we could this December. New Denver brewery, Station 26 and legendary Ann Arbor staple Ashley’s Pub both made our taste buds happy with samples of their best winter offerings. But it wouldn’t be the holidays without the token “beer by the Christmas tree” pic, so don’t worry we threw a few in there for ya.
Beerstagrams are getting everyone geared up for the upcoming Olympics! They may be a few weeks away, but Japan, Ethiopia, Belgium, and (of course) the United States are all representing their unique brews this week. So here’s the challenge: how many countries can we get to represent in Beerstagrams before the Opening Ceremonies in Sochi? Tag @PorchDrinkingCO with your entries! In the meantime, check out Denver’s newest brewery Jagged Mountain.
Have you recovered from GABF yet? I’m not sure we have either. I know a few PorchDrinkers who were claiming a hiatus from beer after the weekend of craft beer heaven. For the record, the hiatus lasted about 12 hours. There were bottle shares and brewery tours, but most importantly, lots of good times and good drinks. Tristan shared a few drinks and played question master with Stone Brewing’s Greg Koch. Let’s all cheers to another amazing (however, maybe a tad more relaxing) weekend!
Yesterday Denver Mayor Michael Hancock met a host of reporters and craft beer lovers at The Source to kick off the 2013 Denver Beer Fest. The Source is a new …
