PorchDrinking Playlist | Sunroof Open, Windows Down

PorchDrinking Playlist | Sunroof Open, Windows Down
Kevin Risner

After years of not doing so, I decided in 2010 that the time was right to put together some of my favorite songs of the moment onto a CD. I would play these songs in my car as I drove around the city or along the interstate with the windows down, basking in the summer months and the sun and the warm weather.

It’s become a tradition now to do this every year. At the start of the year, I closely explore a variety of songs that might fit well together. Soon after I begin looking for summer-y songs, I notice a possible theme emanating from the endless songs I find or are recommended.

This year, like in 2013, I have decided to put together two summer mixes, each one with their own special feel. The one I am sharing with you today I originally labeled “Sunroof Open / Windows Down.” As the title suggests, it is highly recommended you listen to these songs on a bright, warm June (or July) morning or afternoon with the volume up so that everyone you pass on the road can hear you rocking out or relaxing (depending on the song) on your way to the beach, to the park, or to the store to pick up a six-pack for your evening chill out session on the back patio.

I look forward to seeing others’ summer PorchDrinking playlists. Enjoy mine below!
