#LowDown Archives – PorchDrinking.com
If you have attended the Barrel-Aged Beer Festival at LowDown Brewery in the past, you remember the laid back, line-free day of great rare beers. This year’s third annual event will be better than ever with more barrel aged beers, more breweries, and more time to drink them. LowDown will again host the event this weekend, January 13 and 14 with beers from 15 other breweries, including Black Project, River North, Funkwerks, Station 26, Lagunitas, Dry Dock, Odell, Ratio, Elevation, Left Hand, Platt Park, Banded Oak, Spangalang, Little Machine and Declaration.
Starting at the end of April, LowDown Brewery + Kitchen will host a month-long charity event, featuring a new IPA tapping every day. The IPA lineup will include LowDown’s own hoppy treats, as well as some of the best IPAs from Denver and around the country. On Friday, April 28, LowDown will tap seven IPAs to launch the event, which will benefit Groundwork Denver.
Beer festivals can be amazing, but in many ways they can be overwhelming: from the ticket price to enormous crowds and even the long waits in line to catch a glimpse of the brewers of your favorite beers. Last year, LowDown Brewery held their type of beer festival with no lines and no entry fee; just great barrel-aged beer.
