Beer Cocktails | The Lunchbox
March 4, 2024 | Scott JohnsonDo you ever come across a pairing so peculiar that it captures your interest? That’s what happened to me when I was exploring mixology channels on Youtube and one video grabbed my attention. The channel VladSlickBartender makes tons of slickly produced shorts talking about cocktails and bartending gadgets. Beer is normally not his modus operandi, but he took one exception talking about an American original: The Lunchbox.
Inside The Tank | Blue Moon Brewing Company’s Keith Villa
October 17, 2016 | Mike ZollerWalk into nearly any bar in American and you’ll likely spot a beer served with an orange slice. Immediately Blue Moon Belgian White comes to mind. First brewed by Keith Villa at the Sandlot Brewery attached to Coors Field in 1995, Blue Moon Belgian White was originally called Bellyside Belgian White and bars served it with lemon. Things have changed over the years and I met up with Villa at the Great American Beer Fest to talk with him about his brewing background, the history and growth of Blue Moon as well as his thoughts on the craft beer industry.

Flown in the checked baggage compartment and somehow managing to not shatter into a million pieces, I was gifted a bottle of this gem from a friend deep in the heart of Texas. He knows I’m a fan of beers from far and wide, and thought to bring one of his hometown favorites to grace my taste buds. And let me be the first to tell you, it did not disappoint in the slightest.
