Add a dose of environmental philanthropy to your beer sesh at the 6th annual Save the Ales beerfest! The event is coming up on Friday, August 12th and provides attendees access to beer, cider and kombucha samples from nearly 40 local Colorado breweries, plus food and live music.

Save the Ales is hosted by Conservation Colorado, an environmental organization out of Denver, CO working to “protect Colorado’s environment and quality of life by mobilizing people and electing conservation-minded policymakers.” They work towards some awesome ongoing causes in Colorado such as protection of public lands, water usage rights, safer fossil fuel extraction, protection of endangered species and more. They also played a part in Colorado’s newly-passed rain barrel legislation. Most pertinently, Conservation Colorado recognizes that healthy and prevalent water plays a huge role in the proliferation of delicious beer and have been celebrating accordingly with the Save the Ales beer fest year after year, all the while raising tens of thousands of dollars to help our beautiful state thrive!

Breweries who have committed to pour at the festival this year include TRVE, Baere Brewing, Call to Arms Brewing Company, Hogshead Brewery, Left Hand Brewing, New Belgium, Odell Brewing Company, Oskar Blues, Ratio, River North, SKA Brewing, Stem Ciders, C Squared Ciders, and Happy Leaf Kombucha. Joyride is brewing the special event-inspired beer, a honey wheat pale ale made with all local ingredients. The ingredients include 42% Colorado wheat malt and Chinook and Cascade hops. David Bergen, head brewer at Joyride says, “Using all-Colorado ingredients helps tell the story of conservation that we are all committed to [and]… less resources for transportation while keeping money in our local economy. I’m excited to work with Conservation Colorado because as a brewer, water is an incredibly important ingredient. Our waterways supply our cities, feed our agriculture, float our canoes, and of course, help make our beer.” Couldn’t have said it better! Check out event details below:
