ABV: 4.6%

Rolling Rock holds a special place in my heart. I recently rediscovered the joy in a bottle of Rolling Rock that I felt when I first had it a long time ago. It feels slightly carbonated and lacks taste until you swallow and then you get a slightly wheaty, citrus after taste. No, it’s not remarkable or even that good– it’s the sentiment that makes this beer special.

This was the first beer that my older sister bought for me, a landmark for younger siblings. My sister and I are very different types of people, but mostly she is just way cooler than me. She is the definition of a free spirit and has no fear of life. She wears awesome clothes, she’s hilarious and she is always having fun. So when she bought me beer and it wasn’t something familiar like Bud Light– I felt cool. Not because I was drinking alcohol when I wasn’t supposed to be, but because my sister shared some of her coolness, her uniqueness with me. I’ve liked Rolling Rock ever since.

On another note, I like the green bottle and the pledge that’s declared on the back. “From the glass lined tanks of Old Latrobe we tender this premium beer for your enjoyment, as a tribute to your good taste. It comes from the mountain springs to you.” Thank you, Rolling Rock, how kind– you always leave me with a smile.
