Event Preview | Telluride Blues & Brews Festival 2017

Blues and Brews
Desiree Duzich

Music and Beer. Two of my favorite hobbies will be taking center stage at this weekend’s Telluride Blues and Blues. Notorious for being one of southern Colorado’s leading mountain town destinations, Telluride will be hosting its annual Blues and Brews Festival in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.

This 3-day festival features world-class music paired with some of the best microbreweries in the country. Title sponsor Sierra Nevada Brewing Company will return again this year with many of their specialty beers.

New this year, they will be debuting the High Altitude Lounge. This lounge features specialty beers and a chance to interact with some of Sierra Nevada’s peeps. We’re looking forward to tasting these rare brews and collaborations that will be made available at the lounge:

Campout Porter – This beer was part of the Beercamp Across the World series collaboration with Garage Project.
East vs West IPA – This beer was part of the Beercamp Across the World series collaboration with Treehouse Brewing.
Dry Hopped Barleywine Style Ale – This beer was part of the Beercamp Across the World series collaboration with Avery Brewing.
Cherry Chocolate Stout – (only available at the Sierra Nevada)
River Ryed IPA – (only available at the Sierra Nevada)

Don’t worry if you aren’t able to check out the lounge. The Grand Tasting, which will take place on Saturday afternoon, features 170+ beers from 56 amazing breweries. I’ll be headed down to Telluride this weekend to immerse myself in the action. Follow our Instagram to get a first hand look at this stellar fest!
