The Craft Beer Marketing Awards (CBMA) Announces 2022 Winners

The Craft Beer Marketing Awards (CBMA) Announces 2022 Winners
Jereme Zimmerman

The Craft Beer Marketing Awards (CBMA) is in its third year of competition. Founded in 2019, the first awards ceremony had to be held virtually in 2020, like pretty much everything else. 2021’s ceremony was a hybrid ceremony, but for 2022, the CBMAS was a fully in-person ceremony (with an added virtual announcement) at the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) in Minneapolis.

Live and In Person (Also, Virtual)

Winners were announced in-person and via Facebook Live. For the first announcement, a virtual awards ceremony was held on Thursday, April 28th on the CBMA Facebook page and the final winners were announced on May 4th live at the CBC.

CBMA also presented a live, in-person marketing panel discussion at the CBC: Marketing 3.0: Newest Trends and Tactics. “After having to do virtual awards ceremonies for 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic, it was really exciting for the CBMA to take the stage to present the awards in the most popular categories,” said CBMA Co-Founder Jackie DiBella-Curry. “It was a wonderful experience to meet so many of our winners in person at the ceremony; everyone was so excited!”

A Globe Spanning Competition

A highly diverse selection of entries were submitted from across the globe. All 250 winning entries can be viewed at the 2022 Winners Gallery on the CBMA website. The 2022 award recipients are broken down as follows: 89 Platinum Crushie winners, 135 Gold Crushie winners and 26 Global Crushie winners.

“We were so impressed by the sheer creativity, innovation, and caliber of marketing displayed in entries from around the world in every category,” said CBMA Co-Founder Jim McCune. “More than 500 Judges from around the world had their work cut out for them this year. Critiquing nearly 40 categories for each of 5 global regions. The judges had it tough; they really had to split hairs!”

For 2022, the judges panel expanded from about 300 in 2021 to 500 industry professionals from more than 24 countries. For the third year in a row, the CBMA was sponsored by Hillebrand-GORI. Arryved, Inx and the EGC Group were also major sponsors.

A first-of-its-kind award program, the CBMA is an international competition focusing on excellence in artistic and creative marketing and packaging by breweries and their designers and agencies, who play a critical role in brand differentiation in the craft beer retail marketplace. In September 2022, the CBMA will begin accepting early bird entries and recruiting judges for the 2023 CBMA awards season. For additional information, visit the CBMA website.
