Spring imposes upon the world a level of uncertainty that’s both invigorating and maddening. With this uncertainty comes a full spectrum of desires; wet snow convinces the palate that we must drink a heavy Stout. Fresh, sunny days inspire us to seek out something a bit lighter and crisper.

The changing of seasons can make one reflect on getting a bit older as well. I used to be an extremely cynical youth. I started shaving my head at an early age — by the time I wanted to grow it back, I couldn’t. I was rocking the full Jean-Luc Picard by age 28. I also started feeling a bit more self-conscious about my physique.

What We’re Drinking | June 14, 2019

This weekend, we celebrate all the craft-beer-drinking dads out there. We celebrate the non-craft-beer-drinking dads out there too, sorta, but they’re probably not reading this, so whatever. As a father myself, my favorite thing about Father’s Day is spending the afternoon doing what I love the most: not being bothered. It’s true that on any old weekend, I could mow the lawn into nice, crispy lines, throw some meat on the grill and crack open a cold brewski. But on Father’s Day, I get to do all of that without anyone hassling me.

Anyway, the PorchDrinking team has been out and enjoying this fantastic weather! Fantastic of course being relative, and assuming you haven’t been in Colorado for the past two months. In the 30 hours prior to writing this post, I have spent three hours at the gym, 16 hours at work and zero hours in bed. The first head-cold of the year is invading my body, and I’m sitting here typing on autopilot. My stream of consciousness has not yet devolved into an ejaculation of grammarless nonsense words.
