If there was one thing that helped me get through a rough week at work, it is knowing that the social media coordinator at Wicked Weed Brewing has a much harder job. Any time a craft brewer is bought out by big beer, you can be 100% certain that a twitterstorm of epic proportions is on the horizon. It’s a meteorological fact. Ask any scientist. I can’t even get Wicked Weed in my state, and it’s still a sad turn of events. My hatred of ABInBev burns with the intensity of a thousand suns. They’ll probably merge with Walmart next, forming the Buy-N-Large corporation, which will eventually force us from this planet to aimlessly roam the galaxy (a la the Disney/Pixar film Wall-E).
The first week of the year has been chock full of new beer and event announcements. Hopefully, this is a sign that 2017 will be a great year for craft beer. I’ve already started marking release dates on my calendar and making room in my refrigerator. Forget 2016. That was a garbage year. We’ve got to focus our positive energy on the next 359 days! Pull out your yoga mat, get into Downward-facing Dog, and get ready for The Weekly Buzz.
Holiday season is underway and it’s almost time to gather with family and friends to overindulge in the largest meal most of us will eat all year. Hours upon hours are dedicated to cooking an assortment of dishes. Each dish has been tried and tested for years, coming together into a well-thought-out, complex meal. Some recipes have been passed down from generation to generation, and some recipes were probably Googled the day before in an effort to find a new tasty dish to wow the family.
