The PorchCast | Ep 53 – Charlie Papazian Interview on Final GABF

Charlie Papazian Interview

In episode 53 of the PorchCast we had a chance to sit down with the Godfather of craft beer, the man who literally wrote the book on home brewing in The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, the founder of the American Homebrewers Association, founder of what is now the Brewers Association, founder of the Great American Beer Festival, the man who brought fist bumping back, Charlie Papazian.

Tristan, Sami and Sam sat down with Charlie to look back on his storied 48-year history in beer. They also discussed the evolution of GABF over the past 37-years, some of Charlie’s theatrical entrances over the years at the American Homebrewers Association conferences, and Charlie’s advice for future generations of brewers and brewery owners.

Charlie Papazian Podcast Interview The PorchCast

Charlie’s impact on this industry is immeasurable, his contributions to homebrewing and craft beer as a whole have inspired over 6,600 breweries currently in operation, and even greater numbers of passionate beer fans. We were incredibly honored to be joined by such a pioneer and innovator, who has allowed so many people to work in an industry where so many of us can labor in a field that we truly love. And as you’ll find out in this episode, the constant theme that has made this all possible was the focus on keeping beer fun.
