Ski resorts are starting to open, which must mean it is October in Colorado. While you get your shred on for the rest of the ski season, 31 Colorado brewery openings across the state are due to open during October, November and December.
In a very special edition of the PorchCast, Tristan was joined by Andrew Kaczmarek and Nato Francescato, founders of Denver’s 14er Brewing to announce their acquisition of the former Beryl’s Beer Co. facility. That news, combined with their recent announcement of opening a taproom in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Denver, makes for one massive month for 14er Brewing.
June bloom is here! As we have reached the halfway mark of the year, we can set our sights (and our palates) to a new variety of craft beer. That is right, we are welcoming those seasonal beers that we associate with summer fun. Those who are getting ready to travel might not be near their usual beer spots, but the PorchDrinkers have some tasty brews to keep your eye out for and here they are in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
Andrew Kaczmarek and Nato Francescato have never been keen on following convention. The two co-founders of 14er Brewing bucked tradition when they launched in the summer of 2016 without a taproom location, focusing solely on contract brewing and canning their beers for liquor store sales for the first year. That gamble proved successful earning the two a gold medal at their very first Great American Beer Festival last October for their Rocky Mountain Saison, a Cilantro Lime Chili Saison, which took home top honors in the Chili Beer category.
