Have plans this Friday? No? Well, now you do. You’ll be coming down to Cloudburst Brewing to celebrate their one year anniversary. The brewery’s ‘First Ever Anniversary Party’ will be a time to celebrate and reminisce on Cloudburst’s biggest learnings and accomplishments. Oh, and to drink really good beer, of course.

If you’re not familiar, Cloudburst Brewing, founded by celebrated brewer Steve Luke, is the quintessential Seattle brewery. Found in the heart of Pike Place Market, Cloudburst has an ever-changing line-up of Saisons featuring the freshest ingredients from the vendors next door, Porters that near perfection, and IPAs that set a new standard for the style here in the Pacific Northwest. He’s too humble to say it himself, but Luke has elevated Seattle’s craft scene from great to stellar.

That being said, Luke is taking things day by day, celebrating accomplishments big and small, and reveling in the perks of owning his own brewery.

The biggest perk is allowing to come up with an idea or beer, and see it through to a final product without having to answer to a boss or other department,” Luke says, adding that his hopes for the next year revolve around one thing only: The beer. “Volume growth isn’t really on our radar – I think it’s more important to continue to grow as brewers – whether that’s pushing ourselves with new beer ideas & ingredients, dialing in existing recipes, or becoming more efficient with our brewing techniques and processes,” he says.

Plan on sipping on several new barrel aged beers throughout the event – and lots of Luke’s signature IPAs. And if you have one too many, Baywater Shellfish Co. and Brave Horse Tavern will be serving food.

We’ll see you there – beer in hand – from 2PM to 10PM in the taproom.
