Ratio Beerworks | Antidote IPA
Antidotally, Ratio Beerworks was easily mentioned more times than any other Denver brewery as one that I needed to check out during my trip. I recently started a new job that will be sending me out to Denver quite a bit, and while I love traveling to new cities, I don’t think I could be luckier. Added bonus? The craft brewery scene in Denver, CO is insane!
Ratio Beerworks is nestled in RiNo, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Denver. There is no shortage of breweries here, all with somewhat similar vibes. Large garage doors, outdoor patio seating, and adjacent food trucks with rotating options. Most that I’ve visited so far bring a heavy metal/punk vibe and many highlight multiple IPA offerings on their menus. Truly zero complaints here.
Antidote IPA
It took me two weeks too long to finally make it into Ratio Beerworks while visiting Denver. I ordered Antidote, an IPA knocking in a 7.0% ABV. I naturally gravitate towards IPAs and love very hoppy and piney beers. Antidote isn’t overly hoppy or piney, but finishes smooth and feels light on the palate. I appreciate it for its smooth finish and balanced profile. As far as IPAs go, it’s very approachable and easy drinking.
Our brewers have California roots so it was a no brainer to create a West Coast style IPA. We dry hop Antidote with massive amounts of Centennial and Mandarina Bavaria hops to produce a dry and bitter initial taste, and finishes with a clean, crispy malt backbone, making it one of the best microbrews in Denver. – Ratio
Other Beers
An even more approachable IPA option currently on the menu is Rented World, which is a session, just at 4.8% ABV. A more intense and stronger option includes One Great City! A Belgian Quad at 9.0% ABV – Ratio’s strongest on the menu right now.
Next time you’re in the Denver area, grab Antidote at Ratio Beerworks. IPA fan or not, you won’t be disappointed.
Cheers!
