Victoria Pratt

Victoria hails from a small town two hours north of New York City, but her love of craft beer started in the Front Range. It expanded when she arrived in the Bay Area after frequent trips to Russian River, Fieldwork Brewing and The Rare Barrel. When she is not visiting local breweries and beer bars, you can find her cheering on her Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, The USMNT or hiking with her schnauzer, Freddie. You can follow her beer adventures on Instagram and Untappd @tapswithtor. Cheers!

Happy Days are Beer again!  The 21st Amendment of the United States Constitution was ratified on December 5, 1933, ending prohibition. Fast forward to the year 2000 and this famous Amendment inspired a new brewery in San Francisco. 21st Amendment Brewery was founded by Nico Freccio and Shaun O’Sullivan and they opened the doors to their brewpub in the famous South Park neighborhood, a few blocks from the San Francisco Giants ballpark. Some of the fan favorites include: Brew Free or Die IPA, Hell or High Watermelon, Back in Black, Fireside Chat. The days are getting shorter, leaves are changing color and there is a bit of a chill in the air. That can only mean one thing: the National Hockey League is about to get under way and the hunt for the Stanley Cup is on. What goes well with hockey? The perfect craft brew, of course! This is our toast to the NHL and the delicious beers that remind us how great the game of hockey is. Drake’s Brewing Company | Denogginizer

October 1, 2015 | 1

ABV: 9.75% | IBU: 90

Drake’s Brewing Company, founded by Roger Lind, started in 1989 with two stainless steel dairy tanks, a fifteen barrel kettle, one fermenter, and a few British pub cellar tanks. The goal was simple: create good English-style ales. Eventually with the addition of fresh Pacific Northwest hops, top quality malt, and a neutral California ale yeast strain, the ales started to take a more distinct, west coast style. Years passed, recipes refined and evolved and in 2004 Drake’s created Denogginizer, a perfect nod to their English style roots along with a toast to their West Coast hop evolution, tying their past to their present.

Russian River Brewing Company | Consecration

September 3, 2015 |

ABV 10%

Russian River Brewing Company is not only regarded as one of the best breweries in California, but also in the country. The other day I had the great pleasure of visiting their brew pub and the first thing I noticed was the phenomenal selection of beers to choose from. They have everything from sessions to pilsners to stouts to porters and their famous IPA’s and wilds/sours. The demand for all the Russian River Brewing Company beers is high due to their philosophy that it is easier to make better beer than it is to make more beer! I have not had a beer aged in wine-barrels I have enjoyed as much as Consecration. Read More

CitruSinensis | Lagunitas Brewing Company

August 7, 2015 |

ABV: 7.9%

One of my favorite spring beers was Waldo’s Special from the Lagunitas Brewing Company One Hitter Series. Lagunitas has another homerun with their citrus pale ale, a perfect summer beer called CitruSinensis. CitruSinensis was created using “Fresh Sanguinello Blood Oranges inside a Wheatier version of Dogtown Pale(ish) Ale.” Jeremy Marshall, head brewer, stated “we add blood orange juice to the secondary that is just juice so no extract or flavoring. We also let the juice ferment.” This beer was first introduced June 2015 and remains available on tap and 12oz 6 packs. Being part of the One Hitter Series, this is a limited beer that will not last long.
