This week at PorchDrinking, we enjoyed a wide array of craft beers from across the country. At the height of Summer, our team has enjoyed delicious beer at festivals, concerts, cross-country trips, and a slew of outdoor activities. Check out the behind the scenes from this week’s brewventures. This is What We’re Drinking.
As a civilization of internet-savvy beery drinkers, we have no shortage of seemingly random, unofficial holidays to celebrate, but there is none more vital to our palates than National IPA Day.
Falling on the first Thursday of August, National IPA Day gives us all a chance to hoist a glass in remembrance of our favorite Single, Double, Imperial, Triple, Session and New England-style hop bombs. This day also affords us the opportunity to seek out new hop-forward variations to enjoy.
What did one craft beer lover say to another craft beer lover on Easter?

I love the beers brewed in my commonwealth and thing that you should drink them no matter where you live. I will personally guide any and all beer tourists to the best breweries in PA. I mean… I’ll do it if I’m not busy. I’ll probably be busy… Have no fear, dear reader. We have plenty of fun the rest of the country in this edition of The Weekly Buzz, too.
It’s CBC week at The Weekly Buzz! Unless you’re living in a bubble, you probably picked up on the fact that the 2017 Craft Brewers Conference took place this week. This event is put on by the Brewers Association and is THE trade show for the craft beer industry. Because I love my family more than beer, I was unable to attend and will forever be a bitter, bitter man.
While beer for breakfast might sound like a bad experience you had during pledge week in college, we at PorchDrinking see craft beer as a sophisticated flavor profile that is perfect for any brunch menu pairing. Face it, bloody marys and mimosas are so passé. Rich, velvety coffee stouts and roasty, robust porters go perfectly with our favorite brunch bites. Here’s the ultimate roundup of our favorite breakfast-themed beers.
