Well folks it’s finally here: National Drink Until This Mess is Over Day! Oh you thought I was referring to the election? Well, that too. After what seems like two straight years of political ads, debates, annoying mailers and robot calls we have finally reached the end of the proverbial tunnel. But to emerge through this last, most treacherous stretch, you’re going to need a good sense of humor and an even greater supply of alcohol. To help ease this traverse we bring you the 2016 Election Night Drinking Game. Please drink responsibly.
Beer drinkers in 32 states may have never been exposed to D.G. Yuengling & Son, but the Brewers Association distinction of craft independent brewers, the North Eastern regional brewing legend (especially in Pennsylvania) is currently the country’s largest craft brewery. This family-owned brewing company’s Pottsville location began production in 1829 and is the oldest continuously operating brewery in America. Fifth-generation owner Dick Yuengling made waves recently by informally endorsing Donald Trump during Eric Trump’s visit to the brewery on Oct. 25, which led to a flood of Yuengling defectors, because you know… politics.
The Presidential Debate on Monday, September 26 is maybe the most anticipated debate in your lifetime or mine. Expect massive ratings on TV. Anticipate hostility between the candidates on stage. Plan on a few major soundbites to play on cable news for days afterward. And overall, honestly, you can likely expect to be a bit bored by the end. Which is why PorchDrinking brings you Presidential debate Bingo!

When I wrote the original Ultimate 6er for 2016 Presidential Contenders list, there were only four confirmed presidential candidates across the political spectrum. We still have a long, expensive, and amusing campaign season ahead of us before the 2016 presidential election, so I thought it would be wise to make sure we’re all aware of which beers pair best with each candidate’s shenanigans.
