Luckily, the chairman of the House Beer Blog Oversight Committee assures me that there is nothing to worry about and has canceled all future hearings on the matter. We should be in the clear, as long as Fake Tears over in the Senate doesn’t dig too deep into this. Shut down the rumor mill, folks. It is official. One of Florida’s leading breweries, Cigar City Brewing, has been been acquired by Oskar Blues Brewery. This comes only a month after rumors of a deal with AB InBev, and a year after the 2015 AB InBev merger rumor was squashed. Last summer I was lucky enough to check out Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Florida. It was by far one of the best brewery tours I have ever been to, and their beer is phenomenal. Since it’s a small brewery, they only sell their beer around Tampa. Fortunately, I have an amazing friend who came up to visit me in Columbus, bringing with him a 6 back of Cigar City Brewing’s Jai Alai Indian Pale Ale that he bought while in Tampa.
