New Glarus Brewing Co. | Spotted Cow

New Glarus Brewing Co. | Spotted Cow
John Amantea

ABV: 4.9%

It’s been said that the best things in life are worth working for – a new job, your dream car, that perfect house. The work put in makes the end goal that much more rewarding. While the motto normally applies to loftier, greater goals, the same can be said for New Glarus Brewing Co.’s Spotted Cow. Only available in Wisconsin, Spotted Cow has been a favorite of mine since I began making college visits to my brother Mark when he attended Marquette University almost 10 years ago and continues on today (except now it’s little brother Matt holding it down in The Good Land).

spotted cowNew Glarus, founded and operated by Daniel and Deb Carey, prides itself on brewing beer with 100% all natural, locally sourced ingredients. This commitment to a home grown philosophy has endeared New Glarus to Wisconsin and has resulted in the production of some delicious brews. Spotted Cow, New Glarus’ most popular beer, is a cask-conditioned farmhouse ale that carries a prevalent malt, golden color, and a light, white head. The malt stands out as the most prominent flavor but gradually makes way for more tart citrus tones.

Spotted Cow is bottled and sold in six packs, but is only available for sale in Wisconsin. As they say, the best things in life are worth working (or driving to Milwaukee) for. Looks like a trip to see little bro will be in order soon.
