Summer is ending, school is starting, but the sun is still setting later into the night. We here at PorchDrinking are soaking up the last bit of rays and summer feels with some tasty brews in our hands. Build that last bonfire, throw a sweater on and see What We’re Drinking.

Over the last year since its release, @jackieosbrewery Scrip has quietly become one of my favorite beers. The Athens, Ohio, brewery executes a wide range of styles well, and their barrel-aged beers and farmhouse offerings are especially fine, but this little Grisette has distinguished itself for me. Aged in wine barrels for 9 months and now for a year in the bottle, the beer is now bone dry with a subtle, a graceful and slight white wine acidity, a bit of minerality, and some peppery phenolics. It’s both assertive and modest, flirtatious and coy. I’ll be pouring it next week at two different events, first at a class in Tipp City and @mainstreetgreenville’s Farm on Fourth outdoor farm-to-table dinner pairing.
