What We’re Drinking | July 10, 2020

What We're Drinking

July usually is a month when we look forward to family gatherings, watching fireworks with friends and trips to mark the end of summer. Sadly, we are still in the midst of a global pandemic and have to put these plans on hold to ensure the spread of COVID-19 lessens. Some states have opened outdoor seating for breweries and some counties are cracking down on gatherings on beaches. Even Costco, at least where I live, isn’t making party platters since groups of 10 or more are discouraged. Set up a camping chair in your backyard, crack a cold one, and check out how our team is coping with another week in pandemic-land. This is What We’re Drinking.

I got a bunch of beers from @matchlessbrewing a while ago and having tried a few now, I’ve been super impressed. This is a Kviek Table Beer, super easy drinking, low ABV and lots of flavor. Keep an eye out for these guys, they’re killing it . . A side note on this state park. I remember learning about this as a kid, so seeing it was pretty neat. Native American tribes would herd the buffalo and drive them off the cliff, as an efficient way to hunt large quantities . . . . . . . . #matchlessbrewing #bordol #tablebeer #easydrinking #lowabv #washingtonbeer #wabeer #pnwbeer #pnw #montanastateparks #drinklocal #craftnotcrap #drinkcraftbeer #beergasm #beersofinstagram #craftbeerlife #beer #craftbeer #beerstagram #instabeer #craftbrew #beertography #craftbeerporn #thebeernation #beeroftheday #craftbrewsmtnviews

The Major | 16 Lots Brewing Company

I’ve had the privilege of leading a couple guided tastings for @16lotsbrewing in Mason, and I’ve always been impressed with the consistency and precision of their beers. The Major is named for Major William Mason, a Revolutionary War vet who founded Mason in 1803. Dry, crisp, and quenchingly but approachably bitter, this German Pilsner features the floral, herbal, and tea-like aromas of Hallertau and Tettnang hops. Perfect for these hot summer days. I picked up this beer from @rivalrybrews, a new website shipping Ohio beer brands directly to customers around the state. The ordering process was easy, and the site provides a great way to try Ohio breweries you might not have access to where you live otherwise. I’ll be working with them soon on a virtual Ohio beer tasting, so keep an eye out! #16lots #16lotsbrewing #masonohio #ohiobeer #ohiocraftbeer #drinkbeermadehere #drinkbeermadehereohio #drinkohiobeer #rivalrybrews #germanpils #germanpilsner #craftlager #drinklots
