Flying Dog Brewery | Great Job!

Flying Dog Great Job IPA six pack
Casey Street

Flying Dog Brewery is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a new Double IPA called Great Job!, tongue-in-cheek self-congratulation for 30 years of, as its own press release puts it, “Good Beer, No Shit.”

The Maryland brewery is the 35th largest in the country by volume and continues to be the biggest player in the state. Flying Dog’s 20th-anniversary beer, Raging Bitch, quickly became the best-selling beer for the brewery where it remained for nearly a decade.

Great Job!, a West Coast IPA coming in at 9% ABV, reached store shelves last month. As for the 30th-anniversary celebration, the brewery itself remains closed due to the pandemic, so there won’t be an official in-person event to mark the occasion. Flying Dog is now focused on core brewery operations and will reassess opening June 2021.

The beer drinks smooth despite the high ABV. It’s very hoppy without being overly bitter and sits at 60 IBUs. It was brewed with Columbus, Centennial and Simcoe hops. Hopefully Great Job! makes it into the regular Flying Dog rotation.

We love you and we are even more enthusiastic about the upcoming decades,” said Jim Caruso, CEO for Flying Dog Brewery, in a recent press release.
