Welcome to the tailgate, college football fan! Pull up a lawn chair; the chili should be ready shortly. Put that red Solo cup away; you won’t be needing that. The season is far too short for you to drink swill, and we have some proper glassware here for you besides.

As 2016 comes to an end, we connected with a handful of brewmasters from around the country to reflect on this past year and what 2017 will bring for not only their breweries but the craft beer industry in general. We were able to catch up with some of the most admiral people in the business – from Moody Tongue Brewing Company, Dry Hop, Creature Comforts Brewing Co., Corridor Brewery, Bluejacket, Jester King Brewing, Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery, Angel City Brewery, Coastal Empire Beer Co., MadTree Brewing, Burial Beer, Fremont Brewing, and SweetWater Brewing Co.
It is a special thing to celebrate the Fourth of July in places up and down the East Coast, in cities that relish their historical relevance. It’s also a special thing to drink plenty of beer, develop a t-shirt tan and relish in the glory that is overcooked burgers and sour cream and onion chips, with ridges, of course.
Beer can change a man’s life; it has certainly affected mine. We hear of men who leave their stable jobs at the age of 40 to turn their homebrew into a full-fledged brewery, beers that alter the shape and direction of the whole industry, and beers that get professors fired.
Wait…what?! Don’t fret; I’m getting to that.
