You guys, we made it!! The clocks have sprung forward and I think I am finally getting used to the “time change.” Today I walked our puppers in flip flops–yes, flip flops!! Thank you spring for raining down sunshine instead of water in the Bay Area!! Sadly, the whole country isn’t sharing these feelings as Colorado is dealing with a literal blizzard! Where ever you are, be safe this weekend as many people around the States celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with copious amounts of green beer (or Irish beer) and corned beef. Grab a cold one, or Pedialyte, and see what we’re drinking.
This is the best time! The days are getting longer and I get some daylight when I get home from work, which makes me feel like my day isn’t shot in the dark… literally! I can’t wait to change these clocks forward. If the days feel like they are going by quickly, buckle up because they are about to speed up. It gets super busy where I live around this time. I don’t blame people for wanting to ditch their socks for sandals. Florida is a great place to warm up and enjoy a cold brew. I’ll make sure to stock up on beer for any friends or family that come in from up north to thaw out and relax here. We are working on a nice variety in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
Where did the time go?! How is it already March?! I’m always the one that forgets February is a “short” month (28 versus 30 days) so I totally forgot to throw our article together and here we are – Saturday! I promise to do better guys but today is my Thursday (yay Industry week) so I am now off to provide tours of the brewery where I work. Grab a cold beer and see what we’re drinking.
If you live in Northern California, like me, you are gearing up for San Francisco Beer Week–10 straight days of beer events, tap takeovers, brewer dinners and some seriously tasty brews from all around the Greater Bay Area! If you are attending the Opening Night Gala, check out our Gala Preview here. If not, saddle up and see What We’re Drinking.
You made it through the first full week of the year! Pat yourself on the back, or better yet, pour yourself a beer. I started off my first week paddle boarding and hanging out with friends at the sandbar, and I’m ending my week going to an infamous beer festival in Fort Lauderdale. This year has treated me well and I love highlighting the best moments in between grad school and work. We are all about that life-work balance at PorchDrinking, and we would love to share some fine beers to lead you in the right direction.
The air is finally chilly where I live in Florida, so we finally feel the holiday spirit minus the snow. Around this time, we tend to have a lot on our plate, even after we think there’s no way to fill up our plate more than we did on Thanksgiving. There is an endless amount of activities to enjoy coming up, plus tons of beer options to choose from while we are in the prime of the season. My best advice is to take it slow to enjoy every moment. Many craft beer drinkers would agree when I say the best way to embrace the moment is with a great brew by your side. This week, the PorchDrinkers have a stellar lineup to inspire the joy a craft can conjure.
We have a fresh month ahead of us, and to me the correct way to start a month is having some fresh beer to match. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to turn over a new leaf this fall by forgetting the candy coma I endured earlier this week… that was rough. Is a candy coma a medical condition? If so, I had it and I didn’t even trick or treat. Chuck that leftover candy (if you even have any) and pour a fresh beer instead. We have some great options from the PorchDrinkers this week, so scroll down to see What We’re Drinking.
Fall is in full swing and if you find yourself searching for a good beer to watch all of the good sports and fall shows with, we’ve got you covered! Between the changes the season brings and the Oktoberfest-ivities, there is a countless array of beer waiting to be tasted. We have a wonderful selection in this week’s What We’re Drinking to replenish your palate.
As the season is trying its hardest not to let fall happen, I am soaking up all the sunshine I can! The leaves are changing colors, littering the grounds; the sun is going to bed earlier, and the moon — I mean… it’s been bright and huge, I love it! I personally love fall and it doesn’t mean the end of porch drinking weather. So bundle up, light the firepit, and see What We’re Drinking.
This week has been an emotional one as we honor the anniversary of 9/11 and watch the crazy number of storms brewing in our oceans. Even as I write this, there is a deluge happening outside my window, which means it’s time to kick back, grab a good book and a cold beer. My fellow PorchDrinking staff found some great brews this week, along with some much needed sunshine. This is What We’re Drinking.
Happy Friday, fellow porch drinkers! As you may know, we here at PorchDrinking love us some craft beers. I, myself, spent the majority of yesterday with a glass in my hand and wasn’t able to get this article out in time. I told them “…and then just kept drinking after” and they were okay with that! Be sure to visit your local breweries, get some cans to-go and see What We’re Drinking.
Enjoying this last month of the summer is bittersweet. Before you bring out the fall decor, pause to soak in the last moments of summer with a new beer. Whether it is a style you always like drinking, or you are feeling brave enough to try something completely new, there are plenty of ideas from the PorchDrinkers this week.
Summer is ending, school is starting, but the sun is still setting later into the night. We here at PorchDrinking are soaking up the last bit of rays and summer feels with some tasty brews in our hands. Build that last bonfire, throw a sweater on and see What We’re Drinking.
Picking up a new hobby or craft is pretty common during the Summer, but if your latest DIY project was a huge fail, fear not and let craft beer become your new hobby; it’s ours! It is guaranteed to be more relaxing than getting rained on while painting the house or the “new” Summer deck that became a hazard area at your last BBQ. The PorchDrinking staff’s got your back and have plenty of beers to share in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
Loving this warm weather and all the fun weekend activities – beach trips, beer festivals, and fairs! Our staff has been fueling their fun-filled week with delicious brews and we want to share that with you – this is What We’re Drinking.
Summer is in full swing and the PorchDrinking staff is soaking up those late evening rays of sunshine with, you guessed it, some awesome beers in hand. From beach hangs to visiting breweries, our staff is making the most of their summer time so far. Here is What We’re Drinking.
June bloom is here! As we have reached the halfway mark of the year, we can set our sights (and our palates) to a new variety of craft beer. That is right, we are welcoming those seasonal beers that we associate with summer fun. Those who are getting ready to travel might not be near their usual beer spots, but the PorchDrinkers have some tasty brews to keep your eye out for and here they are in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
The disappointment of finishing a unique beer that was so good is something I am sure we have all run into. We stare into the empty glass oh so sadly/dramatically. The non-stop downpour in the Southeast adds a more dramatic effect in my case. All that is left is the lacing. Now we have to find one that was just as good or better?! PorchDrinkers know this struggle and have got you covered in all regions. Check out What We’re Drinking this week to fill that glass up with something great again.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful year, fellow porch drinkers–we here at PD sure have! From Craft Beer Week to crazy beer releases to sharing tasty brews with friends and family and more, we are so glad to have been able to share it all with you, too! Before you ring in the new year, take a look at What We’re Drinking!
It’s been a crazy couple weeks here in the Bay Area. The North Bay is on fire, taking so many people’s livelihoods, homes, and wineries, and now Santa Cruz is on fire. Our air quality was on par with Beijing! Not to mention some people took advantage of the fires and looted, so not okay. This week the air quality has gotten back to tolerable levels and the relief efforts have been amazing to see roll in. Lots of Bay Area Breweries and Tap rooms held fundraisers for different funds! Take a load off and take a look at What We’re Drinking!
