Millions of peaches, peaches for me. I get my peaches up in Georgia. I really want your peaches, want to shake your tree. Heck, even The Allman Bros. entitled a whole album “Eat a Peach.” Peaches have been a musical muse for so many, so it comes as no surprise that the delicious stone fruit would inspire countless beer makers in equal measure. de Garde Brewing in Tillamook, OR, a fine maker of all things sour, also cannot resist the allure of experimenting with the what has somehow become the emoji placeholder for the butt. The Sixth Peach is one result, and a beer worthy of its own song.
Hope everyone is hanging in there amidst this global pandemic —we really are in this together. With the growing number of people testing positive for the virus to the ever growing number of unemployed due to this pandemic it’s getting harder to find a bright spot. Our PorchDrinking team has been my bright spot, and many adorable animal Instagram accounts keep me laughing and smiling during this period. The PD crew has amazing knowledge of craft beer and is always turning me on to new things! Crack a cold one and check out what our team has been quenching their thirst with the past few weeks! Stay safe out there, folks!
It’s still hard to believe that it’s 2020. There are a lot of people out there that were convinced we’d have flying cars and be living like the Jetsons by now. While we’re not quite there yet, we have a ton of great craft beer to explore and experience in the meantime. This is what we’re drinking.

This last December, I became incredibly, completely, over-the-top addicted to a story involving three women in Australia who were wound-up in classroom drama, violent relationships, helicopter parenting and – of course! – a murder mystery. If anyone has read Big Little Lies, I have no doubt that they understand the feeling. Once you read the first page, you are on a mission to solve this mystery – and to get to the bottom of who did what, with who and when. Lucky for us, HBO has turned this page-turner into an equally transfixing show.
With season seven in full swing and the recent announcement that season eight will be the series’ last, I thought it would be fitting to create an Ultimate 6er for the quirky cult hit sketch series, Portlandia.
September brings us another week in transition. Some Porchdrinkers are grasping on to the last days of summer and others are diving head-first into autumn. We even had one intrepid soul who not-so-successfully tried to emulate the Queen of Beer Selfies by replicating the #Bovapose (Trademark pending… probably). No matter what is in our glass, you can be certain that our writers are having a ton of malty, hoppy fun. Here’s What We’re Drinking.
PorchDrinking made it to de Garde Brewing’s 3rd Anniversary to celebrate another year of world class wild beers, beautiful days amongst wild Oregon farmland, and the fantastic people that make it all happen. Read on to find out what was old, new, borrowed, and blue.
