Sometimes there are exceptions, like when a somewhat seasonal style–for example, a Stout–can’t be left alone for several months out of the year. Guilty. Similarly, nobody will blame you for drinking your wheat or sour beers throughout the entire year, either.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Allagash Brewing Company since I started paying attention to their beers, it’s this: They’re reliable, in multiple senses of the word. I rely on them when I’m eating out and unsure of which beer to order—until I see Allagash White, which is my foolproof safety. I also rely on them for their ability to bring quality concoctions to the table. Take Coolship Resurgam, for example, part of their Coolship series. But before we go any further, what is a coolship?

Three Notch’d Brewing Company out of Charlottesville, Virgina is all about producing exciting, innovative new beers on a weekly basis. The brewery has even expanded this philosophy at their satellite taprooms in Harrisonburg and Richmond thanks to dedicated small batch managers. And the greatest success to come from this the yearning to create, is the New England Style IPA, Minute Man.
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of sharing a delicious five-course meal paired with Foolproof Brewing beer selections while sitting across from head brewer Steve Sharp. I fell in love with their craft creations, which are distributed to the Northeast, but unfortunately not in my city!
