Dogfish Head Brewery | Namaste White Belgian-Style Witbier
September 20, 2017 | Sarah DuffyIt’s no coincidence that all of my favorite breweries are independently owned. Not only is Dogfish Head Brewery just that, it’s also still family-controlled! They make quite a few of my favorite beers, and Namaste White is one of those. It will come as no surprise to anyone who’s met me, but Belgian style white ales are probably my most favorite varietal. Of course the fact that Dogfish Head brews “off-centered ales for off-centered people” also appeals to me, naturally.

Off Color Brewing | Sparkles Finds (Some) Trouble Hibiscus Gose
August 8, 2017 | Sarah DuffyOff Color Brewing offers some of the best craft beer in the country across their portfolio, in my humble opinion. And how could you pass up a beer named Sparkles Finds (some) Trouble? This poor kitten got himself into a little, but not too much trouble. Check out the basically amazing description of the beer from the brewery itself (I feel like there’s no way they’re paying their marketing person enough!):
“Curious kittens sometimes get themselves into trouble. What they find out is some things are best left alone. Likewise, curious brewers sometimes add flowers and junk to their beer to see what’ll happen. What they find out is those flowers will add a sweet note and stunning pink color to an otherwise tart and salty beer.”

2 Days, 2 Nights | New Orleans Craft Beer Scene
June 28, 2017 | Sarah DuffyNew Orleans, which has basically become my second hometown, continues to make its mark on the craft beer scene. Not only are more and more breweries opening, but the quality of the brews continues to improve.
Three Taverns Brewery | Rapturous
June 23, 2017 | Sarah DuffyABV: 5.0% | IBU: 5
Three Taverns Brewery’s Rapturous is a great sour no matter what the time of year, but seems especially refreshing during the long, hot summer days. Its fruit forward palate makes it especially drinkable for long days at the pool, beach or shootin’ the hooch. And at 5%, you should still be feeling OK by the end of the day.

RJ Rockers Brewing Company | Bell Ringer
May 31, 2017 | Sarah DuffyABV: 8% | IBU: 48
My first beer from Spartanburg, South Carolina brewery RJ Rockers Brewing Company was their double pale ale, Bell Ringer. The first sip of a new (to me) brewery’s beer always sets the stage for how I’ll approach their other beers and, man, was I impressed! I will definitely be seeking out their other varieties now that I’ve tried this.
