Tristan Chan

Tristan Chan

Tristan is a craft beer fanatic who originally hails from Kentucky, which used to be a veritable wasteland for craft beer. Since moving to Colorado, he discovered a passion for hops, malts, brett strains, tinctures, nitros, and all things craft brew. He created this blog as a means for his friends across the country to a virtual porch drink and he hopes that you’ll join the revolution.

First Draft Taproom & Kitchen Joins PorchDrinking Family

Location: 1309 26th St, Denver, CO 80205

When it comes to partnerships, we don’t work with just anyone. A few examples, Creed once offered to sponsor the intro of our podcast and pay us $50,000 to use it, we politely declined. We once had Donald Trump approach us about writing a sponsored post on the merits of building a wall around our breweries to keep big beer away from further acquisition, we considered it for a hot second but eventually had to pass as well.

Big Day in Beer | Victory Brewing Merging with Southern Tier Brewing

February 16, 2016 |

Today was one of those mega days in beer, where everything just seemed to happen all at once. Many of these breaking stories will end up having greater long term effect on the industry so we figured we’d provide a bit of a recap of the major stories. I’ll kick things off with the biggest announcement, which broke earlier this morning of Victory Brewing merging with Southern Tier Brewing. Read More

2016 Super Bowl 50 Bingo Boards

February 5, 2016 |

It’s time once again for PorchDrinking’s 2016 Super Bowl 50 Bingo Boards. As a way to make your Super Bowl watch party a little more interactive aside from seeing who can inhale the most combinations of cheese dips in one sitting, we’ve created bingo boards for your party-goers’ participation. Each square should be crossed off as they occur. And sure since this is PorchDrinking, take a drink each time you cross off a square. And for added measure down your entire beer when Anheuser-Busch does air this year’s iteration attacking peach pumpkin pale ales because we know it’s gonna happen anyway. Go Broncos! Read More

Event Recap | 2016 Vail Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines

January 12, 2016 |

This piece was written and composed by PorchDrinking.com staff Tristan Chan, Cory Pelc, Kelissa Heiber, Kara Loo, Phil Joyce, Will Dozier, and Desiree Duzich with special contribution from Brittany Werges of 303 Magazine.

In a lot of ways, looking back on the 2016 Vail Big Beers Belgians and Barleywines festival is fairly cut and dry. Everything was amazing. It really is that simple. I dare not use the word hyperbole because while my descriptions may seem gratuitous, they are one hundred percent truthful.
