Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines the world “alcove” as a small recessed section of a room. That’s exactly what MadTree Brewing‘s newest location is going to be—an alcove. The Cincinnati brewery announced its second location, a bar and restaurant located in Cincinnati’s historic Over-the-Rhine (OTR) district.
Properly named MadTree Alcove, the new location will feature a full tap list of MadTree beers, cocktails and upscale farm-to-table offerings with two private event spaces. The two-story space will feature a large bar, light-filled lounges, dining areas and an intimate private dining room for small groups.

By reading the name and looking at the logo, it is clear MadTree Brewing has a love for trees and the environment. Through this passion, the Cincinnati brewery has committed itself to being a sustainable and environmental-friendly brewery.
Since day one, MadTree has embraced its name and worked to celebrate and protect nature, while at the same time working to reduce its impact on the environment.

Braxton Brewing was ready to leave 2020 in the past and start the new year off right. The Northern Kentucky brewery did just that by debuting two new products, a new variety pack as part of their VIVE Hard Seltzer brand and a collaboration beer with a legendary Cincinnati ice cream company.
Cincinnati’s Rhinegeist Brewery was founded in 2013 as a step toward reclaiming the area’s German brewing heritage. Rhinegeist’s expansive 250,000 square foot brewery and taproom is housed in the former Christian Moerlein turn of the century packaging hall and over the years has grown into multiple floors throughout the building.
The crisp fall air will be here before we know it and many will begin to indulge in the great seasonal beers of fall. This typically means Oktoberfest and pumpkin beers but there’s a style that may be even more fitting for fall – the porter.
While it may not be bursting with fall spices or be the official beer of a German festival, the porter fits into just about any situation you can imagine. It complements meals of any kind just as well as it would pair with dessert. Then consider drinking it while grilling out or around a bonfire. It is a style that is flavorful, approachable and ties into the fall season as well as any beer style. And just in time for the change in season, the West Side Brewing Porter gets its annual release.

Each event, hosted by Brewed Food and local restaurants and brewers, are a craft beer and food lover’s dream. The menus feature everything from Koji Coulette Steak and Malted Barley Risotto, Bourbon Barrel Stouts and Summer Ales. But Cummings is clear: This is not a beer dinner. Don’t expect a few different courses paired back to a handful of brews. This is something much larger. This is a movement – and he wants you to be a part of it.
