A few weeks ago, on a cloudy Seattle Friday night, dozens of beer fanatics flooded the basement of the Pike Brewing Company in celebration of the establishment’s 29th Canniversary. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the taproom and restaurant, guests mingled amidst the brewery’s fermenters and bottling lines – sipping away on the quintessential Pike brews and slurping down oysters from the Puget Sound.
If you know anything about craft beer in the state of Washington, you have undoubtedly heard about Stoup Brewing, of Seattle, and Wander Brewing, of Bellingham. Both breweries are extremely reputable within the craft community, and are known as establishments that are unafraid to innovate and experiment—while promising excellent and unwavering quality. The consequence of these pushed boundaries and high standards, is, frankly, just really good beer. Lucky for us, Stoup and Wander teamed up earlier this year at the Collaboration Fest—bringing their techniques, creativity, and obsession for quality together at last. The result, Mabel’s Brew—an East Coast IPA that doesn’t let us down.
A few weeks back, Seattle beer drinkers gushed over the announcement of Fremont Brewing’s latest endeavor: The Black Heron Project. The introduction of the project was accompanied by releases of three brews, including the Raspberry Silence. It’s a brew that completely captures the creativity, innovation and beauty of Fremont Brewing and Black Heron Project.

Well folks, Silver City Brewery has done it again. After a busy 2016 celebrating their 20th anniversary, the Bremerton-based brewery isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, instead releasing a new year-round beer onto the market: The Tropic Haze IPA. This juicy brew hits it out of the park – playing into the “haze craze” that is sweeping the nation while also maintaining an element of mystery and allure for the drinker due to a certain, classified ingredient.

The history of Geaux Brewing starts, innocently enough, with a pizza party and a Whole Foods run.
The year was 2011, and Jeremy Hubbell was planning his weekly Friday pizza party in a business park in Bellevue, Washington. Every Friday, Hubbell would order a few pizzas and pair them with a selection of solid beers purchased from the local Whole Foods down the road for his coworkers.
Seattle, one of the fastest growing US cities, is a mixture of business, wilderness, food, music, coffee, and – of course – beer. Its tenants include everyone from your pink-haired neighbor that works at a boutique featuring solely local arts and crafts, to the posh fashionista that is able to strut her stuff at Nordstrom corporate, to the plaid-donning Amazonian, who types code all week with the goal of treating himself to a trip into the mountains come the weekend. There is something here for everyone, which is why so many people, cut from so many cloths, have found their way to the Emerald City. Seattle, at its core, is an explosion of culture, curiosity and adventure that has encouraged locals to continue sink their roots in deeper. It’s also encouraged transplants to plant new ones.

Fremont Brewing of Seattle, Washington, in partnership with Columbia Distributing, will begin arriving in Oregon this month. The expansion will kick-off with a celebratory event at APEX in Portland today, featuring ten Fremont brews, from 4 – 8:00 pm.
