- The Broncos are looking good. The Rockies made the playoffs for the first time since 2009. The Nuggets are prepping for a possible return to the playoffs. And the Avs are… aiming to improve, as we all are.
- There’s G-A-B-F!!!
- Oktoberfest beers, a whole day (more like all-month) to dress-up, pumpkin beers, Christmas ales, and holidays (aka great times to share your favorite brews with friends and family).
- GABF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t-Miss Colorado Events During GABF
September 28, 2017 | Cory PelcFor one week a year, Denver and the surrounding metro turn upside down for the Great American Beer Festival. While the festival floor is a great place to sample hundreds of beers from all over the globe, the city really lights up with so many other opportunities to support craft beer. There are a lot. Like hundreds. Events popping up at your local restaurant, at your local brewery, at your local craft beer bar. Separate festivals all together have broken off of GABF. So, to help provide some perspective and frothy guidance, we have made that navigation a bit easier with our calendar of events. Make sure you check that out here. Too much to sort through and choose? Don’t worry, chuggernaut, we got you covered.

Rapids & Grass Beer and Music Festival Shines in First Year
July 7, 2017 | Eric GorskiAs an image that captures the spirit of the Arkansas River Valley beer scene, it was as good as any: a purple whitewater kayak plastered with Colorado brewery stickers serving as a cooler.
That, during the tasting session of last weekend’s inaugural Rapids and Grass Beer and Music Festival in Buena Vista, is where you could find hometown favorite Eddyline Brewing’s “beers for any adventure.”

September 12, 2016 | Kara Loo and Kelissa HieberDespite her recent announcement that she’ll be leaving Wynkoop, rest assured, “Bess’s Barrel-Aged Beer Babies” will live on! Back in June, PorchDrinking spoke with brewer Bess Dougherty, recording a PorchCast episode in her “happy place,” Wynkoop Brewing Company’s barrel room. Little did we know a mere 12 hours later Bess and the rest of the Wynkoop family would learn that the brewery would begin scaling back operations to eliminate external distribution AND Bess would soon decide to leave her brewing position at Wynkoop for another opportunity. In light of the latest happenings, we sat down to talk women and beer with her and hear about the latest landmarks in her career path.

Festival Recap | 2015 Collaboration Fest
March 24, 2015 | Cory Pelc 1
Only into its second year of existence and Collaboration Fest shows its teeth and flexes its community-grown muscles. The Denver-based festival boasted lots of brewer cameos both near and far. Last year, in its infancy, the festival came together to celebrate the collaboration and/or cooperation that runs rampant in the craftbeer industry by showcasing beers made by multiple brewers from different breweries for this one of a kind festival. The festival accomplished this and so much more in year one. Fast forward to 2015, in an upgraded and more accommodating venue, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, we got to mill around and talk shop with many a brewer and imbiber alike to see just why this was one of the most anticipated festivals of the year in Denver.
