Ultimate 6er | Denver’s Top Beer
May 4, 2016 | Ryan KnauffDenver is a city of world class breweries. You can literally close your eyes, spin around, start walking in any particular direction, and you’ll find amazing beer. I’m talking world class, triple-A examples of every style imaginable. But what if we were to narrow down everything that we have to offer into a format that we all understand? A six pack perhaps? The rules are simple: the beers can’t be distributed out of state, have to be available at least once per year, and packaging isn’t a requirement. Yes, I have taken on the unreasonably lofty task of narrowing down the top in the state to six total beers. Clearly you can’t go wrong with Denver beers, but these in my opinion, are some of the beers that are most representative of Denver’s top tier craft beer scene. Be gentle. Read More

Denver’s Light Rail system is making it easier to safely expand your reach of local breweries while also preventing drinking and driving. With the A Line opening tomorrow, traveling through the River North (RiNo) District, even more breweries will be accessible through this convenient form of public transportation. This concept sparked the interest of Colorado Beer Geek, Stephen Adams to compile a list of all the breweries within a mile of a Light Rail station along RTD’s A-Line.
Festival Recap | 2016 Collaboration Fest
March 25, 2016 | Cory PelcIn its third iteration, the 2016 Collaboration Fest boasted its biggest and most successful ‘collab fest’ yet. The Denver-based festival invites breweries to collaborate with one another to create unique, one-off beers that are to be poured at this festival only with some of the beers being made available otherwise but in most scarce amounts. Our friends over at the Colorado Brewer’s Guild and Two Parts put on one hell of an event and stepped up in all of the right places. Sports Authority Field at Mile High continues to be a great facility for the event as we got to mill around and talk shop with many a brewer and imbiber alike again this year.

A Six-Pack of Beers to Try at the 3rd Annual Collaboration Festival
March 17, 2016 | Eric GorskiYou’ve heard it time and again — the craft brewing industry is collaborative by nature. Breweries share know-how and ingredients. They root for each other. Veterans impart wisdom — including lessons learned the hard way — to the generations that follow. Of course, there are spats and personality clashes. But that is true when human beings come in contact with one another, no matter the context. For the most part, all the collaboration talk is backed up with deeds.

Women in Brewing | Ali Benetka – Ratio Beerworks
January 5, 2016 | Kara Loo and Kelissa Hieber
Brewing has been a part of the world since the dawn of civilization; some have even claimed that beer has helped influence the evolution of our species. In many eras, brewing was largely a woman’s job. Men began to dominate the field starting in the Renaissance period and even more so during The Industrial Revolution as brewing operations scaled to mass production. Today Colorado is one of the biggest beer states in the country with cities such as Fort Collins, Boulder and Denver offering some of the best beer available. However, men still notoriously hold the title “brewmaster” more often than women. As females in the industry, we felt compelled to highlight some of the talented women who currently make Colorado beer, the paths they took to their currently role in the industry, and the awesome work they are doing on a daily basis.
