It’s been long overdue to have another brewery join us in the Spotlight. So without further ado, enter Moksa Brewing Company out of Rocklin, CA. Established in 2017 and opening their doors in 2018, Moksa is another very young brewery that has had a lot of success in a very short period of time. Seeking to showcase beer and brewing as its own unique art form, Moksa has never hesitated to push the boundaries. We had the privilege of chatting with Head Brewer Cory Meyer, focusing on the growth and successes of their barrel program, some of the ins-and-outs of their processes, and their hopes for the future.

In honor of one year of calling the former Stapleton International Airport Control Tower home, aviation-themed FlyteCo Brewing is hosting an anniversary weekend complete with a free community drone show and fundraiser, August 19-21. The event takes place on Sat., August 19 – coinciding with National Aviation Day–featuring a fundraiser for I Hart Flying Foundation, which provides flight training scholarships to aspiring women pilots. Tickets can be found here for $100 and include dinner, drink tickets, door prizes and access to on-site games including golf simulators, axe throwing, bowling, mini golf and arcade games.

It’s been an ongoing narrative for the past few seasons, but 2023 is a true testament that Baseball is fun again. There are plenty of reasons why this season is so awesome – Shohei Ohtani doing things that have never been done, a healthy Ronald Acuna Jr. keeping the Braves on a path for October, Elly De La Cruz and Corbin Carroll scorching a new meaning for Rookie of the Year – all while payrolls bust the bank and foundation (looking at you, Mets). The market is a farmer’s market-style event where attendees will be able to visit different booths that will be selling and providing samples of beer, purchase goods from local artisans, and enjoy live music on the WeldWerks patio.

Urban South HTX Celebrates 3rd Anniversary With 8 Circus-Themed Collaboration Beers

While Urban South HTX just turned three (in “beer years”) they feel significantly older. They have successfully established themselves in the Houston beer scene, at the forefront of Houston’s ever-escalating fruited sour boom. Created as the R&D branch of NOLA’s largest brewery by volume, Urban South HTX arrived on the scene with more than a pinch of cheek and a strongly anti-establishment identity as part of craft beer’s new guard. Pushing the boundaries of the possible, Urban South HTX is known for their avant-garde flavors, from Strawberry Nesquik and Starburst Gummie to Cheeseburger and Detroit Style Mexican Pizza–yes, these are all real beer flavors.

The Gluten-Free Foodie Festival will take place at the Holidaily Golden taproom, including four food trucks, five food pop-ups, and 10+ Holidaily taps flowing that are 100% gluten-free.
Lagunitas Reopens its Chicago Taproom

This week, Lagunitas reopens its Chicago taproom in Douglass Park. Before you keep reading, open Spotify, search “Pure Imagination” and press play. Ready? OK. The Lagunitas Taproom reopens to the public on Thursday, April 13. You’re immediately transported back in time when you open the doors of the 30,000-square-foot brewing facility. Right away, guests are greeted with the nostalgic tune from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Both Lagunitas and the filmare set in a vast and imaginative space. The same 32 taps line the bar in the upstairs taproom, and the kitchen is serving bar bites, sandwiches, mussels and more.

With February coming to a close shortly, we’ll be looking ahead to the first weekend in March. FlyteCo Brewing and New Image Brewing will both be celebrating their anniversaries in style! FlyteCo will be hosting a 4-day party March 2-5. With special tappings, karaoke, a DJ and even a hangover brunch, you won’t run out of things to do. Meanwhile, New Image will be releasing five new beers (including some incredible barrel-aged beers), as well as having live music in the afternoon on March 4.
