It’s been pretty wild first quarter of the year, and I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the warmer weather. Here are a few beers from our PorchDrinking family to help ease you into the season.

Event Recap | Uppers and Downers 2019
April 2, 2019 | Mike ZollerTo call Uppers and Downers “just” a coffee beer fest would be a disservice to how the event highlights both the coffee and the beer industry.
Treehouse Brewing | Baby Bright IPA
March 29, 2019 | Robert FrenchTreehouse Brewing is one of those breweries that you hear more about than you ever see in their beer in the wild. They are one of the most hyped breweries when it comes Hazy IPAs and are on the top of the list for many beer traders.

Inside the Tank | Crystal Lake Brewing
March 25, 2019 | Mike ZollerWhile there are a lot of big name breweries operating inside the city of limits of Chicago today, the surrounding suburbs are producing notable beers that often fly under the radar.
Since 2014, Crystal Lake Brewing has been producing beers that have become a mainstay for McHenry County. In that time, the brewery has begun to make more of a name for itself outside of Crystal Lake, IL.
Mikerphone Brewing Opens Addition, Preps for Smells Like a Beer Fest
March 25, 2019 | Mike ZollerTwo years to the day Mikerphone Brewing opened its taproom, the brewery officially opened its new addition, called the Mikerphone Blue Room. The expansion more than doubles the total square footage of the brewery, triples the seating capacity, and opens the door to a future that founder and owner Mike Pallen never could have imagined.
Roses’ Taproom | Lite Brite
March 21, 2019 | Danielle EngelRoses’ Taproom in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland, California is ushering in a new wave of breweries by reimagining what a taproom can be. They’re bringing their own style to an ever-growing and expanding beer community in the East Bay.
Walking through the door, some may get a hipster, bougie vibe from the space. But, it’s clear that immense thought and care has gone into every detail. From the teal fish scale backsplash behind the multi-curved spindle tap handles to the luscious greenery and warm lighting, visitors are made to feel comfortable and welcome to share a beer or two with friends in this stylish space.

Kiitos Brewing | The Tangerine Dream
March 6, 2019 | Daniel AvilezBreweries across the nation have entered an epoch of mass experimentation. Classic Lagers have given way to the Haze Craze, and every next head brewer is trying to out-do the last. While these pioneers have been a driving force in expanding our perceptions about what a beer can be, Utah continues to lag. However, while most of us are busy trying to make sense of Utah’s alcohol legislation, Kiitos Brewing continues to keep pace with industry leaders.
T.F. Brewing | Albion Belgian Trippel
February 27, 2019 | Chris & Sylvia Hollands 1The Utah brewing community was a little bit shocked when Kevin Templin left his long time position as Head Brewer at Red Rock Brewing Co. To us it seemed like an abrupt mic drop that didn’t make sense. After surviving the initial shock, we took comfort in the fact there must be something brewing in his mind. So we patiently let the months pass by. As the seasons morphed and the local craft beer continued to thrive, we might have almost moved on. Then, Kevin was back with a bang just as quickly as he had left—and this time he brought along the whole family! Read More

5030 Local | Beer and Pizza Redefined
February 14, 2019 | Bryan OldhamThe stretch of Highway 34 from Namaqua Road out to Estes Park is known for, well, not much. That was until a few months ago, when the owners of Berthoud Brewing Company and Peel Handcrafted Pizza decided to make this stretch of road one of Northern Colorado’s premier food and drink destinations.
5030 Local is a joint venture between Berthoud’s namesake brewery and a mainstay in the Frederick food game. The owners have been friends for years, and general manager Vanessa told us that they had discussed a joint venture going back a long while. They finally pulled the trigger and brought their offerings North.

What We’re Drinking | February 8th, 2019
February 8, 2019 | Anna DacostaWould you be willing to fall in love with a new beer? Maybe even reconnect with a beer you already tasted before? February is a short month, but enough time to show our craft beer community some love. This week was interesting since I tried new beers as well as a beer spa experience. I wanted to celebrate a birthday in a different way, and I definitely accomplished that. Cheers to trying new beer experiences, even if it means submerging yourself in a hot tub full of beer ingredients! PorchDrinkers have a cool lineup of diverse beers and we are all over the country sharing this week’s What We’re Drinking.
