Colorado Brewery Openings for July, August & September 2017
July 11, 2017 | Brian PhippsIt’s getting hot out herrrrrrre… like ridiculously hot. I just want to pop up a tent right next to an open fridge door like in The Simpsons and just cool off. However, a more refrigerator-motor-friendly option is to grab a beer from one of the 16 Colorado brewery openings occurring in the next three months.
From July to August and through September, breweries all across the state will open up. Many of these breweries you could even check out on your way to or from an awesome camping spot.
Just as the Fresh Prince said, “Summer, summer, summer time. Time to sit back and unwind.” You’ll want to unwind by checking out these new Colorado breweries.

14er Brewing Opens for To-Go Sales & Taproom Tastings July 1
June 30, 2017 | Tristan ChanAndrew Kaczmarek and Nato Francescato have never been keen on following convention. The two co-founders of 14er Brewing bucked tradition when they launched in the summer of 2016 without a taproom location, focusing solely on contract brewing and canning their beers for liquor store sales for the first year. That gamble proved successful earning the two a gold medal at their very first Great American Beer Festival last October for their Rocky Mountain Saison, a Cilantro Lime Chili Saison, which took home top honors in the Chili Beer category.

June 29, 2017 | Tristan ChanIn episode 38 of The PorchCast we reunited former co-workers Shannon Berner, marketing manager for Great Divide Brewing, and Bess Dougherty, co-founder for The Grateful Gnome Sandwich Shoppe and Brewery. The two former Wynkoop employees when brought together in a confined space typically end up spiraling down into a deluge of inappropriate jokes/noises, and they did not disappoint.

Last year, Dry Dock Brewing Company announced the launch of their Funk & Sour series, which features crowd-pleasing favorites from South Dock’s barrel-aging program. ABV: 6.3%
This is a great beer, and not just because I’m a Star Wars fan.
The creation of this beer was one of those happy accidents. When brewer Ryan Parker was home brewing, before Someplace Else Brewery even started, he made a wee mistake and diverged from the recipe. Read More

Stranahan’s Distillery Teams Up with Denver’s Brown Palace for 125th Anniversary
May 17, 2017 | Tristan ChanColorado has long exuded an air of intrigue and mysticism for its gruff Wild West ways. It is perhaps this pioneering attitude, but also rough and tumble mindset, that has helped perpetuate today’s deeply rooted fascination with handcrafted brewing and distilling culture.
