Voodoo Brewery | Vivrant Thing
April 3, 2017 | Gregory AceroStyle: American Pale Ale | ABV: 7.1%
This past Saturday I took a drive to Voodoo Brewery in Homestead to pick up some fresh cans of Vivrant Thing. The first thing that popped into my head was that song “Vivrant Thing” by Q-tip from his album, Amplified. Some of you may remember this song or this is the first time you have heard of it, but seriously search it on iTunes and give it a listen; the song is as good as Voodoo’s beer.

Beer Cocktail | Baby Stout Jello Shots with Yard’s Love Stout
March 21, 2017 | Samantha StoryJust because St. Patrick’s Day is over that doesn’t mean the Irish festivities need to stop! We certainly won’t and neither should you. For many, Guinness comes to mind as the beer of choice for St. Paddy’s Day, but with so many options at our fingertips, it’s hard not to branch out. In accordance with tradition, however, it seemed only logical to attempt to take an already alcoholic beverage and make it even boozier. Read More

Philadelphia suburban towns that fall along the Schuylkill River have seen quite a revitalization of both business and community in the past decade. Multi-use recreational trails are being created and communities are investing in the areas through the spawning of local businesses. With the beloved Schuylkill River Trail at their back door (literally, the trail is right through the backdoor), Conshohocken Brewing Company‘s slogan “Go where the path takes you” has been taken quite literally. The path seems to be leading people and well-garnered praise right to their front steps. Read More

Events included beer and brunch with specialty firkins, a beer can derby, a 5k race, tap takeovers, Mario Kart tournament and the Krewe de Brew Mardi Crawl, along with tons of beer specials at both local breweries and bars. Three Taverns Brewery | White Hops

For me, porch drinking and beer are synonymous with family. My favorite beer of ALL time happens to be Three Taverns Brewery White Hops, which was introduced to me by my brother. For many of us, beer is deeply rooted in the emotion and stories associated with it, which is why I’m so drawn to Three Taverns White Hops.
Event Preview | Burnt City Brewing GroundHOP Day IPA Release Party
January 26, 2017 | Taylor LaabsIf you’ve ever been to Burnt City Brewing, you know that they like to have fun. From the beer, to the bartenders, to the bowling alley in-house, I always enjoy my time whenever I visit. I definitely can’t wait to attend their Groundhog Day beer release event (no entry cover) on February 2 at Logan Theatre. The event is both a celebration of good beer and beloved Chicago Cubs fan Bill Murray who starred in the acclaimed 90’s movie the event gets its namesake after.

Søle Artisan Ales | Pineapple Smoosh

ABV: 7.80% | IBU: 35
I glanced at my phone, bleary-eyed to see a time of 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Unlike my typical weekend morning, I found myself standing outside of the Susquehanna Brewing Company building in a long line, waiting for the latest can release from their contract brewer, Søle Artisan Ales. The release was being held at noon and I had several long hours ahead of me for my first ever specialty release. Bundled up in layers upon layers of clothing and blankets, I anxiously waited in the cold Pennsylvania weather to get my gloved hands on a case of Pineapple Smoosh, one of the latest milkshake style beers.
