First off, let me preface by saying, I do not judge those who choose to wait. There is a level of admiration I have for those who make that tumultuous trek to a tiny, or huge, brewery in the middle of nowhere to wait in line for hours upon hours for their favorite golden nectar. If you honestly enjoy this beer geek rite-of-passage, who am I to tell you otherwise? I, on the other hand, have never waited in line for a beer release and I have no plans to do so in the future. I will never taste Pliny the Younger, and I’m completely okay with that.
Start Putin away the IPAs and czarbucks, and start Russian to the store! You won’t believe your eyes or taste bolsheviks when you taste these Russian-themed Russian imperial stouts. Stop Stalin, and get to reading!
The days are getting longer, which means more hours to get things done! But don’t let daytime distractions keep you from the most enjoyable parts of life. Also, don’t stress about the hour of sleep we are all going to lose on Sunday. With this loss, we also gain an hour of daylight! Here’s how we spent our waking hours this past week…this is What We’re Drinking.
This week we celebrated Drink it Now Day, a holiday started by Allagash Brewing that encourages craft beer fans to choose something from their cellars to enjoy now, instead of waiting. But let’s be honest, we celebrate that every day here at PorchDrinking. This is What We’re Drinking.
Beer is a love language all on its own. This Valentine’s Day, show your love language by indulging in one of these chocolate-infused craft beers oozing with rich, sweet chocolate goodness. This Ultimate Round Up will help you find the ultimate chocolate beers. You can forgo the chocolates and roses this year. We won’t judge.
This week was full of ups and downs. Super Bowl 51 saw a huge upset by the Patriots who achieved a comeback over the Falcons (some celebrated, many did not.) Lady Gaga put on a kickass halftime show, but left her political side at home (or did she?) Beyonce broke the internet with her pregnancy announcement (the queen is having twins!) And the American public continues to flail about as the political atmosphere remains heavy and foreboding.
Roses are red. Violets are blue. Candy is sweet & beer can be, too.
Have you found your home filled with all kinds of sweet, heart-shaped treats? Or maybe you have plans for a nice Valentine’s Day dinner with your loved one and are looking for dessert and beer pairings? If so, you’ve come to the right place. We paired six different Valentine’s Day treats with a complimentary beer.
“Studies that we’re aware of show that 63% of craft beer drinkers yearn for the days when Big Beer was great. The craft beer “revolution” is nothing more than a conspiracy to devalue the quality product that our fine American brewers have been creating for decades.” — #AlternativeFacts
These, however, are not Alternative Facts. This is What We’re Drinking this week.
Friday the 13th, a superstition as old as time. At PorchDrinking, we don’t understand how a Friday could get such a bad rap. Maybe we can replace Friday the 13 with Monday the 13. Now that’s something to be scared of. Grab a drink, take a seat. This is What We’re Drinking.
The holiday season comes to a close, but we look back on all the delicious brews we enjoyed during our time with family and friends. We also contemplate giving our livers a break in the new year…..NOT! Here’s What We’re Drinking.
Happy Holidays. Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. Season’s Greetings. Joyous Kwanzaa. Warmest Wishes. Peace on Earth. Happy New Year. However you say it, say it with love. Speaking of love, we love our holiday themed brews. Check out What We’re Drinking during the holidays.
While beer for breakfast might sound like a bad experience you had during pledge week in college, we at PorchDrinking see craft beer as a sophisticated flavor profile that is perfect for any brunch menu pairing. Face it, bloody marys and mimosas are so passé. Rich, velvety coffee stouts and roasty, robust porters go perfectly with our favorite brunch bites. Here’s the ultimate roundup of our favorite breakfast-themed beers.
Each year, December signifies the end of a chapter. People tend to reflect on what has happened over the past 12 months, and how they plan to change for the upcoming new year. But here at PorchDrinking we like to reflect back each week on What We’re Drinking.
It’s officially the season. You know, the one where people like to say things in archaic phrases such as “‘Tis the season.” And even though it’s still 80 degrees in the southeast right now, christmas trees and lights have adorned the neighborhoods. The cold outside may help create a sense of the season for some people, but the warmth outside won’t stop us from feeling the holiday spirit. This week we tip back our glasses as we welcome the final month of 2016. This is What We’re Drinking.
We at PorchDrinking are equally opportunity drinkers. We believe in all beers, because #beerlivesmatter. We believe that no one style should dominate an entire season. We welcome all styles into our hearts and mouths, year around!
Okay, okay, you get it. It’s basically Thanksgiving and we’re not obsessing over pumpkin spice ales… yet. Check out What We’re Drinking this week.
