Levante Brewing Archives – PorchDrinking.com
If you drive an hour west of Philadelphia, you hit West Chester, Pennsylvania and the awesome people of Levante Brewing Company. The brewery, which opened in 2015, houses a 15-BBL system, and they use it to the full extent—making a slew of styles so every palate can enjoy a beer.
They also have a series of hoppier brews, known as Hop Cartel. Each of these Double IPAs features a different blend of hops and clocks in at over 8% alcohol. The Chron was made with Citra, Strata, and HBC-586 hops and packs a punch with an 8.1% ABV.
I want to drink beer, but I don’t want to be fat. After daily two-hour workouts, I’m so tired that one beer makes me fall asleep. This wasn’t the effect I was going for. I just wanted to have a moderately repectable dad-bod. Becoming an old man who falls asleep halfway through an episode of Home Improvement was not the plan. Anyway… Here’s a bunch of stuff I found on the Internet. This is The Weekly Buzz.
You couldn’t have asked for a better setting. An idyllic hillside farm—complete with sheep and a horse—is the perfect place to celebrate the harvest and crafting of one of beer’s most important ingredients: malt. Malted grain imbues beers with sweetness, chocolatey notes and bready, biscuity flavors. Without malt, wort wouldn’t contain any sugar for the yeast to convert into alcohol. In today’s “drink local” craft beer scene, shouldn’t beer contain local ingredients, instead of just being brewed locally? Deer Creek Malthouse’s Malt-A-Palooza sought to celebrate that exact idea and succeeded.
Did you imbibe a little too much on National American Beer Day? Are you repressing your Halloween memories? Were your International Stout Day celebrations a bit too raucous? We’ve got you covered. Every fun social media moment that the craft beer world could conjure is right here in our handy little list. This is The Weekly Buzz.
It’s a federal holiday, an extra day off from work and, above all else, a celebration of independence. The Fourth of July is a celebration of our nation’s independence but, this week, we also found ourselves in a discussion about the independence of craft beer. In this edition of The Weekly Buzz, we’ll explore life, liberty (from Big Beer) and the pursuit of happiness. There’s no better way to pursue happiness than by enjoying a fresh, American-made craft beer, so I suggest you drink one while reading!

With the heat of summer now descending upon us, the Brewers of Pennsylvania (BOP), the commonwealth’s official brewers guild, has released its 2017 Summer Beer Suggestions. The beers on their list are carefully crafted by BOP members throughout PA, and offer consumers a chance to truly quench their thirst in the brutal Mid-Atlantic summer.
This week had so much fun beer stuff going on that it was hard to keep track. There was SAVOR in DC, Philly Beer Week, the Firestone Walker International Beer Fest… Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! There were also a few interesting announcements and (unfortunately) a little more shady intrigue from AB-InBev. Drag your laptop out to the porch and prepare to discover The Weekly Buzz.
The inclusion of so many Pennsylvania breweries was a happy accident brought on by sleep deprivation, but I’m sticking with it. I love the beers brewed in my commonwealth and thing that you should drink them no matter where you live. I will personally guide any and all beer tourists to the best breweries in PA. I mean… I’ll do it if I’m not busy. I’ll probably be busy… Have no fear, dear reader. We have plenty of fun the rest of the country in this edition of The Weekly Buzz, too.

Located in West Chester, Pennslyvania (the western suburbs of Philadelphia), Levante Brewing Company has developed a great local following. True to their founders’ Italian and Mediterranean roots, the brewers of Levante believe that high-quality ingredients are one of the keys to great beer. Brewing on a 15bbl production system and a smaller pilot system, they create a great variety of beers with a focus on very high quality.
As we enter into November, we are all feeling beaten down and emotionally drained from all of the election coverage. The arguing and stupidity is really starting to take its toll, so it felt necessary to keep it light this …
Another week is in the bag, and social media has been all a-twitter (pun DEFINITELY intended) with craft beer events, musings, and nonsense. Your time is far too valuable to sort through it all, so we have decided to boil it down to a few memorable posts in our new weekly social media recap! Without further ado, here is this week’s Weekly Buzz!
